Yes as a matter of fact there is an author by the name of Zecharia Sitchin who studied sumerian artifacts and cultural evidence for decades.He wrote a series of books about them called The Earth Chronicles.Book one of this series is called The 12th Planet.I recommend you start there.Its very interesting.The Sumerians lived in is what is now Iraq.They were believers of extraterrestrial beings known as the nephlim who used genetic engineering to create human beings as they are today.They also believed there is a 12th planet that returns to our solar system every 3600 years or so to cause climatic events and devastation to earth.Check it out.The physical evidence of advanced technology and knowledge for such an early civilization is truly fascinating stuff.Sitchin also shows examples of biblical and muslim references to the validity of the sumerian culture.Hope this helps.

From what I've read, Sumer is the place of the most ancient texts (tablets), that we currently have accessible to us, from approx. 4000 BCE...

I have a feeling that a lot of the stories have been passed down and likely altered to suit different cultures, and are highly correspondent with many tales in the bible, and that the gods of Sumer are related, albeit with different names/alter-egos, throughout many cultures and times since then.

The origin of these 'gods' is mysterious to me, though I would 'look to the stars' for clues...

I think they found the records of the SHABOOM a BOD

They knew some aliens personally.
I believe that is pretty evident.
Read "DMT:The Spirit Molecule" it is a book about a man who administers DMT to lots of people and records everything.
Alien encounters and NDE's can easily be ruled out as just people who have too much DMT in their brains.
I do however believe that the Summerians walked n' talked with some aliens.

People think it is stupid or even insane to think that other beings exist in our very vast universe.
I think that they are the crazy ones...

I know a few aliens from Sumeria, they were aight.

look at their art....then look at our alien movies? makes sense they were visited and thier civilization were created over night. just like atlantis. even around that area in iraq there are places that make great docking areas for ships. that and the blacked earth on the sanai....a nuclear explosion perhaps? many beleive a nuclear war happened in those times between the annunaki. which then sarts up the bibles genesis. and the floods during those times, destroying atlantis in the process. i dont doubt any of this. for one my own mind can tell me what is real and what is not. to much physical evidence to say it didnt happen. pluss no one was there at that time to say it didnt happen. but we uncover our past little by little. the truth is already in our faces. just grab on to it and youll be fine.

I have a great many thoughts about aliens and of course all the information about other beings....What is interesting when people are writing and finding out about these sorts of things never know that another person was involved in the information.By the information I mean the photos that was taken and put on a website I got to see the image before it was posted if not around the time without looking on the site. If you ask me I think traveling to different areas helps for these types of things.
Just like the movies made and the way owls get used for some type of symbol for other beings.I have even had a chance to see images of beings it's just that I know what is possible about the images...That does not mean that their is not hope for other beings.

Perhaps the Sumerians were pygmy's and the Annunaki were Zulus.

have you seen ancient aliens on the history channel?

as far as these "gods" being larger that could have to do with the human species growing over time. if they were humanoid aliens they would be future humans, and would of course have much more advanced technology in order to travel here to earth.
