earth is about possessions and material, and tangible reality, so what does it really mean to possess the self, if the self is such a vague, windy, abstact concept, that kind of trancends the earth and it's reality...? Does it mean we are in a state of independence/freedom untouched by all things, basically put, when I say the word virgo, does it apply to what it means to be earth, if earth is worldly, and experienced, and virgo is the 'new' the 'beginning' the 'starting point of something new' that is why I've always debated wether virgo is TRULY earth in origin...how is this possible? The main idea (big picture) for Virgo is perfection, and freedom/love of the self so how is it that this concept is definitive factor of earth? I don't understand this if the main drive of the sign is an IDEAL not a ACESST, or POSSESSION......one can possess an ideal, but still not be called earth, such as fire signs, whom are idealistic, and driven by these ideals, yet virgo is driven just the same by this ideal; perhaps, the most ILLOGICAL, IMPRACTICAL IDEAL OF ALL!! lol It's maddening how this sign can exist in such discomfort, and denial, and juxtapostion!! I'm GOING CRAZY VE OUT!! LOL

the very definition of virgo means 'cardinal' the first, and it's main drive, seems driven off of a 'true' inner idealism/optimism of acheiving an ideal of perfection....so, um, why is it earth? I'm looking at this from the actual/abstract meaning of it, but am only ariving at more questions, and less answers; I feel this sign is really.....perverse, in presentation.

just slappin earth on something, or just fire on something really means nothing if there is no reason for it, abstract or not....to do something just to do it while it serving no purpose on EITHER plane of mind/reality, is really kind of.....well I don't know, but I don't like it so there, take that!! lol 😉 I think I'm just rockin' the boat here, but I think my question is definitely founded, and deserves a answer.

I think of earth,(being and earth sign myself) as being the NATURAL earth, and not necessarily all of tangibles. Like identifying with nature, animals, trees and the wind that caresses the leaves and the rain that bathes them, etc. The self, is, to me, part of the whole and the whole is part of me.

yes, I did lovethatvirgoman lol....hehehehe surely. Earth as far as my knowledge goes is relational to material, reality and all thing relateable to work, and gaining them...what a hellifyingly boring concept!!! I have more of a spiritual/philosophical type of feel to me rather than a natural thing. what you said is really interesting; tell me, how do you think this relates to the earth signs as a whole?

Well, I never really thought about it until now. Maybe the earth signs experience the earth in a spiritual sense as well as in the tangible sense...like the earth, itself is ours.

...and everything we want of it.

I wonder how many earth signs hate flying in an airplane?

I actually enjoy it, or at least I want to experience something before I slight it. Imagine it lovethatvirgoman, free-falling from 30,000 ft. in the air, and your body hitting the ground with an impact strong enough to spell 'I luv you' in ketchup....lol 😉 aw...lol
