I want To Tell Virguy to Stop Talking to Me

I am developing some feelings for this Virguy and is definitely distracting me...I know..almost definite that it is not going to go anywhere. If I tell him to stop talking to me, is he going to get hurt by this. I still want us to be friends, but at a distance...HOw do you virguys respond to this?
