Hi everyone! My husband is a Virgo ( August 31st), I'm Gemini. We've been together for almost 6 years now and have a 3 year old kid together. The past couple of months haven't been good ... we started to grow apart, starting fighting a bit more. He once said he wanted to break up, but I really wanted for us to try and work it out. Clearly it didn't work. Last week we got into a fight and he told me he wanted to break up that he really didn't want to work it out anymore and asked me if I understood clearly, I said yes!

Since then he acts like he never said anything ... talking to me all normal. When I asked him what was up with that he said no we still have to decide what we are going to do ....

What's up with that? lol I'm figuring that he just wants me to tell him it's really over and I am leaving because he cant' ... I don't know what to think about that. But he's not nice anymore and we have no physical affection like no kisses, NOTHING anymore either.

Please help! Thanks 🙂

Have you asked him why he wants a divorce. Like really took some time to sit him down and talk to him in a serious heartfelt manner.

I don't mean while you all are arguing and going back and forth. Or while you all are coexisting together like there isn't a pink elephant in the room.

Do you think your issues are able to be resolved?
Like why are you all arguing. Who's the aggressor or are both of you picking at each other.

If a person wants to go ... then let them go.

In the end, they are going to be gone anyway, if that is what they want ... so why drag it out to a bitter one?

You have a child together, so the mature thing would be to separate now while you still have fondness for each other .... after all, wouldn't you wan the child to have two loving parents, rather than two hating parents.

I don't see what is so difficult about this situation. Are you a good person, or not? ... because you must not know, if you have to ask what to do.

@BrandyP....

The Virgo told her he wanted a separation.
The OP wanted to work it out.
Again, the Virgo reiterated that he wanted a separation, and asked the OP did she fully comprehend this?
The OP simply replied, yes.

The Virgo's reaction wasn't a misleading one.
But a time of internal assessment, and figuring out his next move.
Of course, after he was under the assumption that he and the OP were on the same page.

His words and actions are very consistent and in line with one another.
He's telling her that he doesn't want to be in a relationship.
...And his actions are displaying all the signs of a man who has already checked out the marriage.

WHen she asked him about inconsistency he said they needed to "figure out" what they wanted to do, so unclear
He didn't say that. Stop reading in between the lines.

Decisions about finances, custody, etc are always made prior to an actual legal separation.
The Virgo made his decision. He wants out. The OP is holding on and reading into something that isn't there as an excuse to hold on to him.
It's over!

Thanks everybody for your answers, it's really appreciated.

@TaurusBull : No I am not holding on, I just thought it was weird for him saying one night we are done and the next morning asking me what's for dinner tonight like every other day. I thought maybe there's something I'm missing here ...

It's been like that for a week now. He hasn't talked about what will we do, nothing. I went at my parents house last Sunday and when I got back he asked me if I told them about us and I said no and he just said ok.

The break up is mutual, I can see there's nothing going on between us anymore. We are very different and it seems we have a hard time understanding each other, it's even more obvious now that we have a kid.

Still, I was confused about the way he acted. I want to know what's going on but I don't want him to overreact because he often do and I don't want to get into a fight ...

I note you call this guy your husband, and you keep saying "break up". If you were married you'd be divorcing, and most women here use that word.

So is he just a guy that stayed around after he knocked you up with the (as you put it) "KID"?

I say that sarcastically, because YOU describe your child as that.. "a kid" like a piece of furniture.. you both need to do the "kid" a favor.. split up and STOP fighting.
