Hey, tattoos and piercings aren't for everyone, I agree. Not every guy wants Kat Von D for a girlfriend/wife, though some sure do! But earrings? Earrings are a major deal now? Glad you aren't American - you'd claw your eyes out at seeing how most of us wear earrings, and a lot of us have most/all of those things you don't approve of!

But TOE rings?? I mean, you didn't just mention permanent things like tattoos and piercings.. you included wearing a toe ring? Wow, so do you disapprove of ALL jewelry on women, aside from maybe that Back-Off-She-Belongs-To-Me engagement/wedding ring? How about makeup or perfume? Nail polish? Scented soap or body wash in the shower? Coloring out her grey hair? Anything she might do to enhance her looks and make her feel good about herself? Oh yes -- her Virgo's respect and admiration is all she needs, right? And as long as she keeps within a specified range of acceptable activities and choices? Even if he's a cold bastard and doesn't show her how he feels - unless it's anger at her socially unacceptable and morally repugnant behavior because she dared wear a toe ring, because he's a rigid, unyielding prick and always knows best how OTHER people should and should not think, feel, and behave. And we all know that a Virgo is never, ever wrong or anything like that! *wink*

I think I now know why you hate Pisces women so much - too independent for you, and like to think for themselves and make their own choices, and fuck what society and others think of them for it. *grins* Good luck meeting the woman who can meet your standards now, allow you to mold her as you see fit, and never want to do anything for herself in the future, without making sure you approve of it first. one i love Japanese culture and anime so i thought y not have ma name in jap and the virgo tatts i wanted to get it cuz
i feel that lots of people dont like being a virgo i was one of those people wen i was little those virgo tatts will show people boom in ur face im man and a virgo so go kick rocks.

tatts shows a person character and whatever tatt u get will show people wat type of person u are thats what i think.

i have a tat in memory of my deceased artist friend. she was only 19 when she died. she was so talented. she could draw like no tomorrow and she used to write fantasy lore. my tat doesn't look like anything too original but it's special to me. it was her favorite character in her stories. it's a little mythical, dragon-like thing that was her main character's companion/pet/minion.

In my opinion, when someone is absolute in a particular belief and of course you know MANY MANY MANY people fall outside of your particular belief...it's going to offend someone. You had to of realized that you were going to get responses that didn't agree with you when you posted that you found them to be a "disgrace" and "degrading" people will concur with your opinion.

I don't think concur is the right word. She did not agree with me at all.

Why take offense to someone else having an opinion?
She could have just stated she disagrees and believes in personal expression.

I have a distaste for certain things too, but depending on who my audience, will determine what I will I won't say.

I've got my nose peirced. But I have a very small stud, so it's only when you are right up to me that you see it. I really like it, because it's descrete in an open way. I used to have my belly button peirced, but I ended up taking it out.

As for tattoos..... I have nine of them. And they all mean something to me. They have marked milestones in my life, as a reminder of that time period. Instead of wearing my heart on my sleeve, I tattoo my heart onto my skin that can read as a book, but only certain people know what each tattoo means. But all my tattoos are hidden when I'm dressed. Except the new on that I got.... my Queen of Spades tatt that I ended up getting on my wrist. But I'm showing it for a reason......

Tattoos and peircing aren't for everyone. My mom is very adverse to me getting tatttoos and peircings, but she actually really likes my tatts and nose ring. She says that I've done it with class and style , rather than getting a big tattoo that takes up a portion of my body. I do this as a way to self express myself. The process that you go through from having a tatt designed, thinking about what it means and where you want it to go, to actually going through the pain of the tatt, and then waiting for it to heal.... I find it very spiritual.

I got a nose ring as a sign of religious devotion to a particular goddess (I tell people a different reason so I don't look like a nutcase in public). As far as tattoo? I used to want one but then thought better of it, that's something that you're stuck with for the rest of your life and really...who wants that?

I think some tattoos can be nice though, but ugly ones are just a travesty. I dated a guy who had wonderful ink on his upper arms and back and while it was sexy as hell...I couldn't help but wonder what they would look like when he was 72. LOL!

Religious reasons are fine at least it has meaning and conviction.

tattoos are a lifetime commitment (or expensive and annoying to have removed)
piercings can be caught on stuff and/or ripped out

both are expensive (or at least more expensive than not having them at all)
both can get infected
both are pretty much completely impractical
both make a person more identifiable

except for the last reason, which sounds like it's my scorpio side showing through, it looks like maybe my parents have lied to me about my birthday.

I was going to say, Cajun, that I'm with you. I think any tattoo is a "blemish" on a body that could otherwise be appreciated for being "flawless," natural, and "raw." Inking it up with permanent scrabble-dabble mars the perfection of its natural state . . . sort of like running a major highway through an ecological sanctuary. 😉
