i'm not a virgo but have a virgo moon and i always read how virgos are perfectionists and obsess over their health.
i really fit this description: i've always been involved in physical fitness, i was a dancer for years and i still dance (for fun) these days and go running religiously, and sometimes mix up my routine with cycling and long walks, and like to play tennis. i eat mainly healthy foods, and can't remember the last time i had anything unhealthy like, fastfood hamburger or pizza or anthing like that. i would say that i was a bit ocd about my food intake when i was 19, and through my earlier twenties (made sure to keep my caloric intake really low). my cal intake is still kind of low but not intentionally as i used to make it and healthier. i'm always interested in health and science news and thought once that i want to be a dietician and educate people about nutrition and health. but anyway, i was wondering if other virgos obsess over their health the way astrology says they do.

I read that VirgoHero, and meant to comment on it.

My Virgo loves cheeseburgers .. well anything high in saturated fats, actually. And he'll only eat once a day, at the end of the day right before bedtime and this huge ass meal ......... his nightmares must be horrid.

To get him to eat healthy is impossible.

I actually hate living this part of our lives ........ because if I try to eat small portions in front of him, he gets upset, thinking I'm trying to make myself get sick or summat.

Anyway ... I really enjoyed all that you wrote in that thread.

P, somewhere in that long ass thread, I made a comment how often times its a mental "switch" that gets turned on and I have no rhyme or reason on what exactly triggers it.

1. My best buddy is a Virgo (Same age, exactly 1 week apart) and he drank and smoke WAY more than I ever did when we're in our 20's (and I drank and smoked A LOT). His diet consisted of some greasy lunch at 2 in the afternoon. No breakfast. Dinner was a bag of chips to go along with his beer at night. Somewhere in his early 30's, he goes into the doctor for a check up and the doctor tells him his cholesterol is AMAZINGLY bad. Literally this small event caused my buddy to do a completely 180. The odd thing is was not a person EVER concerned with his health so for him to go to the doctor for a checkup floored me. This was his "switch". He COMPLETELY changed his diet to eating fish and chicken, in moderation with less junk food and more salad (very light dressing). We're both big sushi eaters so to help support my buddy, every time we hooked up for a meal, I made it at a Sushi bar for good healthy eats that I knew he'd enjoy. He was never a big heavy set guy but he lost a lot of body fat and his cholesterol dropped to the safe levels

2. For me, when I FIRST started to get into training at the gym (my diet was still crap), I was looking for ways to get the most of my workout and that's when I started to learn how important my diet is to the outcome of my efforts. Anyways, when I first got into it, for some reason I just totally geeked out on the science and numbers aspect to where I understood the general data and numbers on a food label. That was my "switch" when I started realizing "oh crap, THAT's 928374928734 calories! I'm not eating that!"

3. Another buddy of mine is a game designer. If you've ever heard of the game "World of Warcraft", he did some of the content design and writing several years ago. Anyways, his wife wanted the both of them to get healthier and lose some weight so she signed them up for Weight Watchers. He didn't really give a shit that he was big and overweight but he's a man that wanted to support his wife so he did so sincerely. From what I've been told, with Weight Watchers, its all based on points but a lot more tangible than counting up to 2000 calories. Like eating raw vegetables is zero p

(Got cut off, here's the rest)

Like eating raw vegetables is zero points. Eating 1 slice of bread is 1 point, etc etc. and you have a set number of points you can accrue if you're sticking with the program. In his mind, counting points and maximizing what you can get with a set amount of points was nothing but a big GAME. He KNEW games and enjoyed winning so that became his "switch". He's now over a 100lbs lighter.

P, I wish I had some advice on how to turn on that switch 🙂 as it can be rather random when it comes to guys. I do hope that you're able to turn it on some day though.
