Linda Goodman: Children of Virgo fathers usually grow up with both love and respect for books and learning.

Amanda Patterson: As writers, Virgos make good non-fiction authors, especially in Physical and Chemical Sciences. They love details and they have an ability to judge things correctly with only a glance.

They can become great philosophical writers. H L Mencken, William Golding and Samuel Johnson really force you to think.

It is interesting that the prolific crime writers, Agatha Christie and John Creasey share this sign.

Virgo writers work hard and once they start, there's no stopping them. Stephen King is a perfect example. John Creasy received over 600 rejections before his first book was accepted.

I got my first typewriter in second grade, and I've been writing ever since. But my Virgo Dad has no interest in it, and none of the other Virgos I know are writers, either.

In my experience, Virgos love to read, and then discuss what they've read - Dad can talk your ears off about politics when he's in the mood - yet there are quite a few famous Virgo authors.

So, DXP Virgos: Do y'all like to write?

I write poetry, but I have to be emotionally driven, either in a happy mood or a sad mood, like cybernikes said, I have very short windows or sheer creativity, otherwise I write something that I don't like later

I tend not to be very prolific because most of the things that I write about has been written about throughout history so I tend to feel less original and end up scraping stuff

I think every virgo can write, and it depends on how much confidence they have in they communicative ability, I personally write the raw stuff down but if I was to share it with others then I will have to taylor it otherwise I might get in trouble
