We aquarians are known to be an air sign but isn't it funny we have not water = aqua Where did we get are sign name and why? Aquarians are known to be wise and distant sometimes we miscommunicate and are known to dominate is that part of out element? Well these are my questions hopefully someone will answer~! 🙂 PS It's the Age of Aquarius~! why~!?
The symbol for Aquarius is the Water-Bearer, a universal man who is pouring forth water from a jug. This universal man represents the community of mankind. The waters of life flow, like ideas coming from the unrestrained mind. Many people mistakenly think that Aquarius is a water sign, but it is an intellectual air sign. As such, Aquarius can be interested in concepts and ideas. Because of its universality, Aquarius can seem somewhat detached from personal emotions. It's not that you Aquarius don't have feelings; it's just that yours are different from most others. You dance to the beat of a different drummer.
Aquarius can be good communicators as long as you stay in the mental realms. Aquarius are friendly, but can become uncomfortable as you discuss your feelings. In fact, your friends are very important to you and Aquarius might be involved with groups of like-minded people in a social club, a political action group or a public service group.
The Aquarius motto could be Einstein's "Great spirits have often encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds." And yours is a great spirit, sometimes erratic and sometimes brilliant. You know much about yourself and the world, but knowing everything can be an obstacle to your own happiness. Your practice is twofold. First, you must learn how to separate your crazy notions from what is important. And second, you need to learn how to respond to the opposition you encounter without making it difficult for yourself.
Element: Air The astrological element of air represents movement. And the most efficient movement between two points is often a thought. Air signs are thinkers. They emphasize the intellect over other functions. With active minds and a good command of language, the air signs are the natural born communicators. They can be light and breezy as the breath of spring, but their words can also carry the power of a gale force wind.
The air of Aquarius can be like the winds after a lightning strike. Large amounts of air are moved around suddenly in such a storm, and that which survives this intensity gets to enjoy the calm after the storm.
The Age of Aquarius (c.2000 ) starts at the dawn of Satya Yuga. The beginning of this age was estimated by various calculations around the year 2000. Some astrologers believe that mankind will step out of the mystical age of Pisces right into the luminous age of Aquarius between 2000 and 2050, which means the end of superstitions and of dogmatic religions (apud Bruno Wurtz.) It is not without interest to go back to the Ahmadiya Movement of Islam speaking about Mahdi's appearance on the Earth. We shall quote here Gibb and Kramer (Shorter Encyclopaedia of Islam, p.24): "To believe in His as the Second or the Promised Messiah is an article of faith, because first of all His coming early in the 14th century of the Hidjra was predicted by Muhammad." Or, Hidjra (Hegira), the starting point of the Muhammadan period was the 20th of September, 622 and that gives us the date close to the end of the year 1922 maybe the beginning of the year 1923 for the start of the new era.
Now, there is a brief extract giving the evolution of the heavy planets towards this end of the millennium.
Pluto, the mightiest of the planets, is the master of Scorpio until the beginning of the year 1995 and afterwards it will enter Sagittarius. It awakens the old demons to exorcize them completely and this cleansing will bring all the mud from the depths to the surface. The energy will serve to purify man, if it is well used; being perverted it will turn against him. Pluto in Scorpio indicates a token of life, death, rebirth. Then, it will enter Sagittarius, symbol of superior spirit, of metaphysical abstraction, of fundamental seeking.
The other three heavy planets will leave one after another Capricornus to enter Aquarius: Saturn in 1991, Uranus in 1996 and Neptune in 1999 indicating the entering of mankind into the age of Aquarius, generating a new awareness, a new spiritual order (apud Christian Kursner.)
In 1996 Uranus will enter Aquarius whose master it is. Thus, the dominion of materialism and selfishness will come to an end, leading at the same time towards a new society characterized by benevolence and universal integration. This will means the abolishing of the old concepts and the vanishing of any physical and spiritual frontiers. But beware! The entering of Jupiter alongside Uranus into the sign of Aquarius (1996-1997), may mean the outburst of the divine wrath against those that overlook its authority as well as those that disturb the divine ord
The estimated start date is thought to be sometime around the millennium, but, though its exact start date is contested among astrologers, astronomers, theologians and others, the effects of the Age of Aquarius have already been felt. To understand the nature of an age's influence, it's helpful to think about someone with that particular Sun Sign -- in the case of the last age, Pisces (the Ages move backward through the Zodiac) -- and which of their qualities most stand out to you. Over the last 2000 years or so, we searched for meaning in the skies and in our hearts and, like those with Sun in Pisces, our innocence was sometimes exploited but our hearts were also often filled with Piscean hope and trust that things would get better. Na?ve, spiritually-seeking, the Piscean Age was about hope, faith and fear, and humanity was preoccupied with feeling cowed by a force larger than ourselves.
The Piscean Age focused much energy and concern on the unknown, on the mysteries of faith and the fear of not knowing. The key phrase for Aquarius is "I Know," but that knowledge is not a righteous, superior or exclusionary knowledge. It's a sort of wisdom that draws people together, for Aquarians are, above all else, social animals. They crave interaction with large groups of people, thriving in humanitarian and social causes and in any situation where collective thought, innovation and cooperation are required. They tend to be eccentric and disdainful of tradition and -- while they love magic and believe in the esoteric arts -- prefer to discover knowledge through scientific experimentation and exploration. Technology is like a hobby for the Water Bearer. Aquarians stockpile all the new gadgets on the market and are at ease in front of a computer or connected to a cell phone. Sure, they're trendy -- they need to be at the forefront, in the midst of the social action, up on the hottest fads -- but they also truly love other people and believe strongly in the independent spirit. Sociable, open-minded, innovative, eschewing of tradition, scientific and technologically driven.
If we extract these qualities from the individual and apply them to the world, we can see what the Aquarian Age is all about. We will loosen the ties of tradition and forge ahead in a cooperative effort to improve human relations and also the relations between ourselves and our world. We will be respectful yet also playfully, intelligently rebellious. We will admire and encourage individuality and embrace differences rather than fear them. There's no way to know where the Age of Aquarius will lead us all. Who knows what the world will be like in the year 4000? As science proves that we are all one race -- that no matter our color or origin, we are all essentially the same beneath our skin -- we will also grow, change and learn to adapt to one another's cultural and individual differences. We have an opportunity to apply the most positive qualities of Aquarius -- intellectual openness, humanitarianism and compassion for the environment -- to making our world a more considerate, benevolent and accepting place.
When does the Aquarian Age begin? Esteemed astrologers have given their opinions for decades and some of the times range from the late 1900s all the way toward the year 2500 and beyond.
The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius 1996?2087
we will look more deeply at the Aquarian Age cycles to come--especially Pluto's movement in this sign from 2024-2044. For the moment, realize that all our dreams, ideals and visions don't have to occur in the next couple of years. We are just beginning to taste the Aquarian Age potential. Think literally of a near future of mental telepathy, time travel (perhaps via the intuition and "higher planes"), contacts with ETs, clairvoyance, clairaudience, past-life and even future-life "recall," great advances in medicine, science, technology and environmental protection. There is some TIME--perhaps as much as 9 decades (akin to a pregnancy cycle of 9 months)--to birth a real, solid Aquarian Age--an age where humanity and the Earth as a whole actually go through a bonafide spiritual initiation.
