1. Franz Joseph Haydn (March 31, 1732 ? May 31, 1809) was one of the most prominent composers of the Classical period, and is called by some the "Father of the Symphony" and "Father of the String Quartet".


2. Johann Sebastian Bach (21 March 1685 O.S. ? 28 July 1750 N.S.) was a prolific German composer and organist whose sacred and secular works for choir, orchestra and solo instruments drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate maturity. He is regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time.

3. Arturo Toscanini (March 25, 1867 ? January 16, 1957) was an Italian musician. He is considered by many critics, fellow musicians, and much of the classical listening audience to have been the greatest conductor of his era. He was renowned for his brilliant intensity, his restless perfectionism, his phenomenal ear for orchestral detail and sonority, and his photographic memory which gave him extraordinary command over a vast repertoire of orchestral and operatic works, and allowed him to correct errors in orchestral parts unnoticed by his colleagues for decades.

4. Leopold Stokowski ( April 18, 1882 in London, England, died September 13, 1977 in Nether Wallop, England) was the conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the NBC Symphony Orchestra, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and the Symphony of the Air. He was the founder of the New York City Symphony Orchestra and The American Symphony Orchestra. He conducted the music for and appeared in Disney's Fantasia.

5. Norah Jones (born Geethali Norah Jones Shankar on March 30, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter and occasional actress. Jones's career was launched with her massively successful 2002 debut album Come Away with Me, a contemporary pop album with a sensual, plaintive soul/folk/country tinge, which sold over twenty million copies worldwide and received eight Grammy Awards, including Jones's award as "Best New Artist". Jones's second album, Feels like Home, was released in 2004 to high sales.

6. Ravi Shankar(born April 7, 1920, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India) is an Indian composer best known for his virtuosity on the sitar.

Pandit Ravi Shankar is arguably the best-known Indian instrumentalist and is well known for his pioneering work in bringing the power and appeal of the Indian classical music tradition, as well as Indian music and its performers in general, to the West. This was done through his association with The Beatles (especially George Harrison) as well as with his own personal charisma. His musical career spans over six decades and Shankar currently holds the Guinness Record for the longest international career.

7. Billie Holiday (April 7, 1915 ? July 17, 1959), born Eleanora Fagan and later called Lady Day, was an American singer known equally for her difficult life and her emotive, poignant singing voice. Holiday has long been considered one of the greatest jazz voices of all time.

8. Sir Elton Hercules John, CBE[1][2] (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight on 25 March 1947) is an English pop/rock singer, composer and pianist.

In a career spanning five decades, Elton John has sold over 250 million records[3] and has over 50 Top 40 hits, making him one of the most successful musicians of all time. John was one of the dominant commercial forces in the rock world during the 1970s, with a string of seven consecutive #1 records on the U.S. album charts, 23 Top 40 singles, 16 Top 10 ones, and six #1 hits. His success had a profound impact on popular music, and contributed to the continued popularity of the piano in rock and roll.

9. Frankie Laine, born Francesco Paolo LoVecchio (March 30, 1913 ? February 6, 2007), was one of the most successful American singers of the twentieth century. Often billed as America's Number One Song Stylist, his other nicknames include Mr. Rhythm, Old Leather Lungs, and Old Man Jazz.

10. Marvin Gaye (born Marvin Pentz Gay, Jr.) (April 2, 1939 ? April 1, 1984) was an American soul and R&B singer-songwriter, instrumentalist, record producer and performer who gained international fame as an artist on the Motown label in the 1960s and 1970s.

11. Joscelyn Eve Stoker (born 11 April 1987), best known by her stage name Joss Stone, is a Brit Award- and Grammy Award-winning English soul and R&B singer, songwriter, and occasional actress who has sold over 9 million albums worldwide.[1]

12. Eric Patrick Clapton CBE (born March 30, 1945), nicknamed "Slowhand", is a Grammy Award winning English guitarist, singer and composer, who is one of the most respected and influential musicians of the 20th century, garnering an unprecedented three inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Often viewed as one of the greatest guitarists of all time among critics and fans alike, he was ranked 4th in Rolling Stone's list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and #53 on their list of the The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time. And on that list, he was also listed the second greatest living guitarist, behind B. B. King.
