Birth chart progressions

Is it possible for your moon sign to change but instead of going to the next sign it goes to the one before?

No, because the moon never goes retrograde. Yet it can still progress to the moon sign before your birth moon as it progresses forward through the astrological signs.

The birth chart went from Sagittarius moon to Scorpio would this be the reason why?

I like Virgo moons I just find it strange that since it's a progressed chart it doesn't go to the next sign
