Everyone has brought up very interesting perspectives but in my opinion, as far as living on earth, water is the strongest element be she when u think about hurricanes or tsunamis, they've done far more QUICKER damage than fires, earthquakes, or tornados. Yes fires, earthquakes, and tornados are just as powerful and devastating, but the tsunamis that hit, I believe it was japan, literally wipped out the entire coast of (I don't remember), within MINUTES.... Does anyone agree with me?
Because *
I definitely see what's your saying DJ, Water I think is the hardest to control
Just got this from google
"Drought and flooding are the most deadly natural phenomenon. Hurricanes, tornadoes, and earthquakes might seem like the most dangerous natural hazards you could ever face, but floods and droughts actually kill more Americans over time.Jan 14, 2013"

^^^Just saying. We humans and other animals need earth to stand and live on. Sure, we could stand on ice, but growing food on that would be difficult.
And also, yes, the tsunamis were awful(I lost two friends and seven aquaintences, vacationing in Thailand, so I know it wasen't fun), but guess what caused it? That's right: an underground earth quake. Earth quakes can also cause floods.
Ofc we need all of it: air to breathe, water for nutrition of both ourselves and the earth. fire heating the earth core to make earth livable for us.
What cause tsunami? Water don't make tsunami or hurricane ALL by itself.
Never mind which one is strong, no being on earth can live with ONE element alone. If one is stronger than the other, why is there a need for 4 elements? Think about it.
At any rate, I like this thread. It makes one think. 😄
Well, you do need heat otherwise you'd freeze to death in darkness.
Bottom line, all 4 elements are equally as powerful and need one another.
water can boil and dry out with extreme heat, water can put out fire, fire can scorch the earth, wind can fan the flames..etc
to say one is stronger than the other is nonsense.
This question is silly. Each element is most powerful in it's own specific strength.

In astrology, no one element is stronger than the other. You can easily list the "strengths" of each element and imagine scenarios where one element's would be more advantageous than the others'.In nature, however, the most powerful element is technically water. It provides sustenance, can slowly erode/dissolve nearly anything, and it's rage in a storm can level cities.
but an earthquake can level cities... the storm is aided by... well... the wind.
cant live without air either.

I would have thoughtEarth - sow plant build
Water - feed grow produce
Air - breath
Fire - to burnI personally believe it applies to the astronomical view point as well...
Water can contain much "life", earth without water only a dry desert. Water is strongest, is life! and nothing stops it.
Air can move water, earth contain, fire can boil but if water want to end it all.

what if the air wanted to end it all and just say " let me stop and let these bastards suffocate"?
what if the sun just said " let me burn these bastards to a crisp"?
what if the earth just decided to say " you know what, let me shake these assholes like a salt shaker"?
What does water do to air? Rain through it?
Ok if we're gonna make comparisons lets get real.......
Tsunamis don't just happen because water is angry it takes an (earthquake) to create devastating effect
earth and water working in conjunction with each other to create that sort of effect.
Wind and fire creates bushfires......most you guys probably have only ever seen that shit on TV, in australia that shit happens all the time, not only does fire travel very fast on wind the smoke travels for miles and it is a very very scary situation if you are caught in a fire storm because the wind can change at any moment.
wind and water creates tornadoes, the heavy water from the rain clouds creates the funnel to bring it down to the ground and if you want to make it go even further earth is pulled up from the ground to give it colour..
earth and wind creates sand storms
and earth and fire is volcano...
If we want to talk about elemental merits all elements have magical, mystical properties, its up to the individual person to exercise their third eye and aquire knowledge..
People use fire in divination, interpret smoke in air, use crystals in geomancy and use water to read tea leaves....none is better than the other they are all balanced if there was an unbalance then it would be naturally restored in time I guess.
I think maybe because you think water is better than the others could be due to the face that we're just coming out of pisces. But if anything it means that Air and Aquarius is the most strongest element and sign.
I came to this conclusion because each air sign governs a specific layer of the atmosphere....Gemini is the lowest where radiowave frequencies are found......Libra is the next one where aurora is because they like beauty and aquarius is the electromagnetic field, we are above everything and aquarius relates to electricity.....When we think of global warming we think of things heating up tsunamis, king tides, flooding etc you automatically think this is a water related incident but its actually because we're poisoning the Air with carbon emissions that brings on the Age of aquarius and the water is just the fountain of knowledge pouring from aquarius's vase, its the ultimate lesson to learn how to be one with the ego and world.
Earth ( Taurus) by astrology is about material possessions and stability..I feel there for I am.....it's not much but when I feel happy and the sun is shining.. I am a very delightful person.. when I feel anxious the weather seems cloudy with a few rays shining..when I am angry or stressing oh boy it's a dark cloud of mood swings.. this is mother nature,(earth) mostly..so the weather seems to impact my mood or feelings..
Everyone has an earth placement in their chart.. most are stable in life.. all about stability in one aspect of their lives or another..
For ie, calming down situations is peaceful or having so much fire with earth placement is probably soothing at best in life..
But my earth with air. Keeps me easy going yet take things seriously though in life.. so earth with air placement stern yet free flowing attitudes naturally.. able to adjust..
They are all strong at their one way, depending where they are and such.
Now there is a little diference, fire is intense, earth is persistent, water is calm most of the time, air is distracted with its own things most of the time.
This question is not silly. Think about it, the question basically asks. Which came first.
Like the chicken or the egg
I'm just curious what people think came first between the 4 elements.
IMO I have no idea lol that's why I made the thread to get insight

Yes, yes, that's all fine and good but this is the astrology board, not "natural disasters" board so obv you got astrological answers 😆
But nature-wise, yeah I'd agree, Water does the most damage relatively speaking, and it is the most essential element to sustain life.

Is there an element, regarding astrology (earth, fire, water, and air), that is stronger than the other three?
I heard that, in general, water is the most powerful element between earth, fire, water, and air, do you think that refers to astrology as well?
And by powerful, I would say intuitive, generally wiser people, have higher thoughts, stronger gut feelings, and anything that would connection them to another dimension, water signs have a stronger ability.
Does anyone understand what I'm trying to ask? It's difficult to put into words..

this is such a complex topic, can anyone find any REAL (no blogs) scientific websites which discussing the elements water, fire, earth, and air, and could possibly determine which one came first?
(I can't find a decent or reliable website) ^
