"Oh? You're born in the same month as [insert famous person here that shares their sun sign]. I think you're both [Their sun sign]? [Then start a conversation about the famous people you share birthdays with.]

It's easy to ask their birthday and even make a joke about sun sign, it gets weird if you want to know their birthdate and location. I generally dont go that far.

Without a doubt! Puts me to sleep quick

I ask what their birthday is and how old they are...then once I know them a little better, like you know, a week later lol, I ask where they were born and what time hahaha. Only had someone tell me to back off once...current BF just sent me a pic of his birth certificate. I just say I think astrology and natal charts are interesting.

I never go that far either unless we're in a relationship. I was born on Earth Day so I've got an automatic opening in an average conversation about astrology, but if I want to cast someone's entire chart, I'm out of luck. How can I ask someone the exact hour and minute they were born without looking kinda loopy? How can anybody?

everyone knows their sun sign, it's not fringe looney at all. to the average person, it's cocktail party talk, do maybe don't bring it up in the middle of a boardroom meeting 😛

I did do that with an Aries said exactly that way too. And laughed and I was come on when's your birthday and started leaving and laughing in the process. Finally he gave me his birthday months later.

I'm blunt AF recently.

me: "oh nice. what time were you born"

then they might get a little weirded out and ask why, and then I tell them how I'm into astrology. some people don't even know wtf i'm talking about so it works in my favor. the last guy I dated didn't know what I was talking about at all. like at all. astrology was a foreign word to him.

I went on a date with this one guy and he mentioned his birthday randomly. he goes "when I'm dating someone my birthday isn't really my birthday"

I already knew it was Valentine's Day. the last guy I was talking to was also a V-Day baby. I've met 4 V-Day babies in the last year. 2 who wanted to get involved, and the other two I did get involved with. one lasted 2 years.

anyways my point being...I'm like "is this a joke" in my head. just thinking to myself "why do I have the Valentine's Day curse as a damn Scorpio"

so I play it off because he also mentioned his age. so I calculated the year in my head (yes I'm a freak of nature and idc). then later as we sat at the bar, I go:

"I have a weird question"

the chemistry was going quite well thus far so I was like "fuck it- I'm curious so I'm gonna ask. if he doesn't like it then that's his problem"

so he goes "I'm sure it's not weird. what is it?"

me: "what's your birth time?"

*he pauses and looks at me*

him: "...you know...when you said you had a weird question I thought 'it can't be that weird', but I have to admit...that is a pretty weird question."

me: *laugh* "I told you it was weird, but I'm into astrology so I really want to know. I'm curious about something."

him: "astrology? I'm not sure I know what that is. I'll have to ask my mom about the birth time though. I don't know what time I was born."

the curiosity was not cured!!! but she ended up saying around dinner time. when I first met this guy I was like "this guy is definitely a Leo". turns out he just has a Leo ascendant!

I say have no shame and have no filter. sure some people will think you're a weirdo but who cares. as long as you're not hounding them I don't think it should matter. they should like you for your interests and your quirks.

that guy let me ramble on for a bit about astrology. I didn't want to overkill it, but I told him about my ascendant and moon. this was prior to him knowing his birth time. he goes "hmm. I want to be whatever you are". funny. that was cute...thinking back on it, haha

at first I didn't want to be a freak and ask people, but now I'm like "fuck it. what are they gonna do besides judge me? life is too short, so I might as well be labeled weird and study charts to get better at astrology"

and most of the time, as I mentioned before, people don't even care!
