Astrology influences perceptions by shaping beliefs about personality traits based on zodiac signs, which can lead to biases. While it offers comfort and self-understanding, it may also cause unfair judgments. Recognizing that these assumptions are not scientifically proven helps prevent discrimination based on astrology. Personal character remains independent of zodiac signs and should be judged individually.

So, I was in Psychology class the other day and we were discussing a study by Jane Elliot (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jane_Elliott). Basically, what Elliot did was take a bunch of children and tell them that the ones with blue eyes were naturally superior to all of the other children. She also made the kids without blue eyes wear an arm band to indicate that they did not have blue eyes. The children with blue eyes started to oppress those who they deemed inferior; For example, one day the blue eyed kids went down to the lunch room and demanded that they should all be served before the kids who didn't have blue eyes.
Elliot then told all of the children that she accidentally got it backwards; That children with blue eyes were INFERIOR to all of the other children and that they now have to wear armbands instead. You would think after facing harsh discrimination and judgement that these children wouldn't oppress those who had blue eyes? No, they did the same thing right back to the blue eyed children.
So this got me thinking about our minds; What if all of this Astrology stuff is willingly fed to us and the reason we consider it true is that in our minds we shape the image of a person from the description of their Zodiac sign? Maybe that is not truly who they are, but that doesn't mean that we will not believe different. For example, if we meet someone born in October, a Libra, and because we believe in Astrology, we are going to assume that this is a natural born diplomat. We form an image, a judgement of sorts, of who that person is just by what month they were born, because we believe in Astrology. Unfortunately, these judgements can be both positive, and negative.
What ever happened to reality? What does being a bad person, having negative traits, or positive attractions have to do with where the stars were when you were born? It is something we use to comfort ourselves, and possibly even hide behind. We as humans want to know our future, and who we are.
This is what I believe; Bad people who do others wrong are just that: Bad people. If I don't get along with you: It isn't because you were born under a different heaven that me. If I like you, it is because I truly enjoy spending my valuable life with you.
Are we just discriminating against one another because we believe in Astrology? Are we unconsciously forming untrue images in our head of who people are because they were born in an incompatible star constellation? Is A
