ZODIAC MYTHBUSTERS - all scorps freaky? etc. etc

I hope i haven't overstayed my welcome DXP.

But i've been on this thing like crazy, i've been enjoying myself tho.

After a few great discussions with a few of you.... i started thinking.

You know that show Mythbusters ??

Why not apply that to the stereotypes surrounding our sun signs —?

First... let's compile as many as we can think of.


MYTH: All Scorpio women are overtly sexual


MYTH: All Capricorns are money hungry/materialistic


MYTH: All Gemini's have bi-sexual tendencies




and so on and so forth....

now before ya'll add on to the list, think about it....


do you have enough evidence to bust the myth —?

How do you seperate the MYTH'S about our sun signs from what's actual fact —


EXAMPLE:

Leo's use sex as a means of indulging in their own sense of power...
and they have multiple sex partners NOT because they are unfaithful or devious, but because of the sense of power. The lion's pride, you know??

NOW, i read that...years ago.

And i've experienced it as true

So can you really refute these stereotpyes —

MYTH: All Pisceans are impractical.

The thing about astrological myths is that they are born of popular perception, rather than proveable fact. Just because a bunch of people percieve (for example) Scorpios as "controlling", doesn't mean that we really are...maybe it means that without trying to, we exert influence over people...everything can be twisted into something else to suit whoever's trying to make a point or express an opinion. I think we should never blindly accept myths, in fact I think we should all rage against them as much as possible. If everyone put enough energy into being who they really are, we could only then find out the truth.

As a personal example, I fight my tendency toward jealousy in relationships all the time, and I fight it as hard as I can. But guess what...it's definitely part of who I really am. I only know that it's true because I have tried for so long to stifle it and change that part of myself, and to no avail. And I just happen to be a Scorpio, so I guess that particular "myth" is truth for this particular scorp.

Anyway...

Other myths: Pisces are weak...Cancers are crybabies...Libras hate conflict...

Mulitple people are born everyday all over the world and they aren't the same due to upbringing,experiances,cultures,religions,etc.Even the ones who may have similiar personalities are infact different from each other in some way.

Myth: All Pisces are impractical!

This is the most false myth i have ever heard. Pisces have such strength and courage that they can achieve soaring standards while enjoying life at the same. They are good at dreaming and also actually have a clue at what they are doing and what they have to do. Yeah sometimes they do get sidetracked but sooner or later they get the job done. They have a unique ability to enjoy the dream world and the reality both at the same time.

Scorpio's are vindictive and dark and like things associated with death

What? I don't know where folks got that from! I do not like things associated with death. It affects me deeply especially when it is a loved one. But please as far as me being all morbid and into that stuff. Forget about it. I like workings of the mind more than anything. Vindictiveness? Hmm all depends. I am more into punishing people with the silent treatment than anything else.

See... as a pisces, i LOVE the interaction...but my business side kinda looks at each little thread as kinda like it's own campaign...no ulterior motive, but i like seeing what motivates folks.

That is a myth about Pisces male sexuality that i've come across in about 8 different books and it is not true at all.


FLAKY PISCES FEMALES....

yes indeed.

Pisces is a feminine charged sign...so all that mutability affects our girl fish in a massive way.

They are prone to infatuation.

One of my very close female pisces friends is CONSTANTLY in "love"...and 3 months later, she's in "love" w/ someone new..... she's always claiming to have things under control.

PISCES GUYS ....couldn't be more different from that.

We know our emotional nature makes us easy targets for cruel women....
we TRY to choose who we love very wisely and EVERY pisces guy i know including myself will go months/years without sex, without dating -- JUST to make sure we get it right.


Aries insensitive?

I'd have to say yes to that one.

I have a friend here on DXP --- Cancer Male, his Aries girl broke his heart into a million pieces and she couldn't give less of a damn.
Some of that is just the cruelty women these days possess...
but some of that is also just part of that " I don't care, i'm gonna do what's best for me" attitude of Aries. NOT good with us water signs.

My dad is a Libra, and we don't get along AT ALL. He also tends to alienate other people. He's an asshole.

My mom was a Sagitarius (she passed away a few years ago) and there was hardly a day when he didn't start an arguement with her, very often over dumb shit. All his fighting made me seem Libraish though since it bothered me and I tried to get them to stop, although I was bothered because my dad would bitch at me after bitching at my mom rather than simply the fact that they were arguing.

I really do get a little depressed when I read that so many people have experienced such awful mistreatment at the hands of the water signs. The thing is, I can see it happening, I can see how a Cancer could be very hurtful in the way they appear to shut you out and wallow in their own stuff, how a Pisces could give the impression that they care, but not specifically about you (more about the world and their place in it), and how a Scorpio can be so singleminded when they want something that they forget to tread carefully on others' feelings...it's just that I do believe there is an equal amount of good and evil in everyone, and it's all dependent on how the person was raised, how mature they are (in an emotional/spiritual sense) and how conscious they are of the effect of their actions on their world that makes that person take a high road or a low road. All the signs are capable of it, I just think that water signs have to potential to be especially hurtful since we are made of emotion, express ourselves through emotion, relate to others on mainly an emotional level, etc. So it's like we have more power to do harm because we operate so emotionally. I wish more of us would be more careful.
