I saw a ephemeris with astronomical tables for one year when I was a kid, and became fascinated. It was old and ratty and looked a little like the Farmers Almanac.
I am 56 now and back when I was about 12 years old I read Linda Goodman's Sun Signs. At first I was hostile to it (like many males) but came to accept it and did two distance learning courses in it from 1978-1980.
