Which sign gets the most depressed?

I'm a female Libra with a Capricorn Moon. My Cap Moon gives me a tendency to be negative and depressed more than I would like. But I have found two signs of men that I have dated that seem to get depressed frequently. One was a Virgo, and the other I am with now is Capricorn. I thought Cancers were suppose to be moody, but I have found both of these signs Virgo/Cap (in my experience anyway) to be real moody and depressed a lot.

Is this an Earth Sign tendency? Has anyone else experienced this with Cap/Virgo men?

I think every sign is prone to 'depression' but it manifests itself in a variety of ways, depending on the sign. Perhaps there can be 'bouts' of depression or a generally negative outlook on life.
I have noticed with melancholic Capricorns, a prolonged, negative mood that reflects their attitude to people and situations. Some of the Cappy's I've met (not all of course) have often been bitter and harsh for no reason whatosever.

With Libra (having a best friend as a Libra), I always thought the depression was spurned by an ability to establish relationships, or amend conflict, as opposed to a persistent state of mind.

Some signs have greater capacity for gloominess than others.

Lanathegreat, both my ex Virgo and my now Capricorn's depression was/is about the same. Virgo's are perfectionists. When things weren't going how he thought they should (in his head) he would get very down. The Capricorn man that I've been seeing for a year, when work and finances aren't going well, he gets very depressed.

While typing this, something came to me. Could I be attracted to men with this quality because I am more depressed than I realize? Like attracts like...? I was thinking over the weekend that I would love to be in a relationship with someone fun (like a Gemini) 🙂 who's spontaneous. But I seem to attract men who would rather stay at home than go out and do things, and who also tend to be withdrawn.

I have never dated a Taurus, so I can't completely say it's an Earth Sign trait, but I'm starting to wonder with two out of the 3 signs I've been with if it might be.

Backtolife, Maybe Capricorns have this tendency because of their opposite sign being Cancer? I??ve noticed that he tends to be more down than not about life. I have read that Capricorns are so busy in their younger years trying to get their careers in order that they do not really enjoy life till in their later years. He's 32 yrs old.

So in the meantime... 🙂 I am going to have to find a way to accept this is how it's going to be, and if I can't accept it, I may have to move on. This is much easier to say than do as I love this man dearly. But a weakness of mine is I have no patience,, He tells me this all the time.

As far as myself being a Libra, Yes when my relationships aren't going well I get very down. Unfortunately, I base my happiness on that state of my relationships 😢 Libra's have a hard time finding balance (ying yang/scales)

Well, I'm pretty depressed at the moment and I'm a Gem! Go figure!

But yeah, my viguy was depressed for all 3 years that i've been with him. Very sad!

I remember the Gem mood switches. A guys gotta be quick else he'll miss them and get broadsided by the other twin lol.

BellaBulleautiful, Gosh that would be horrible 😢 I'm not sure if I could handle it on an every day basis. It's bad enough that it happens a few times a month.

Lanathegreat, that's an interesting point,, While thinking this weekend about being in a relationship with someone spontaneous and fun (at least 'some' of the time gosh!) the thought came to my head that if things are going to be this way until he gets his career in order and who knows how long that might be, I might be better off alone. I say this because on weekends, I am the one out doing things 'alone' while he's either working or at home resting. It's rare that we actually go out and have a 'date' He's much more comfortable in the comfort of our apartment.

I mean to say my apartment as that's where we spend most of our time together.

Capricorn is the archetypal sign of depression (Saturn rules fear among other things), however they tend to get more cheery about life as they age. Virgos are mutable, so we're too fluid and changeable to stay in a depressive state for too long, we'll literally talk ourselves out of it (Mercury)

I think it's Capricorns. As a Capricorn, I would say that we experience a deep gloom like no other sign. It takes a special person to understand us and even more so what we are going through. Most people are superficial and not willing to put in the work to do that.

Well the reasons Capricorns are prone to depression is b/c of their inability sometimes to process grief & to accept that some things in life will go wrong. Alot of Capricorns don't deal with their emotions quickly enough, thus most of the time they are down, they are probably dealing with a SERIES of emotions from the past that were never dealt with, thus giving off the impression that they are often depressed or negative about something. This is why Capricorns are really happy when things are going great & extremely depressed when things go wrong. They can go from 1 extreme to the other

Cancer tends to be more depressed in the moment. She/he can become a victim of their own emotions temporarily but quickly move on to the next best thing that will lift them from their spirits. Cancer is so emotionally in tune with their emotions & the good thing about this is that Cancers know exactly WHEN & HOW to deal with negative emotions, unlike other signs who are not as emotionally in tune. Cancers know themselves very well & know exactly how to lift themselves up from the darkness, thus they rarely stay depressed for long. Sure, they might be moody as hell often, but actually staying in the stage of depression for long periods of time is very unlikely.

Virgos tend to be depressed the most when they are not needed, appreciated or when their efforts in life keep failing them. Virgos rarely deal with self-image & try so hard to be the "strong" & "unmovable" & "untouched" ones to the point where they literally lose themselves when they are forced out of this way of life or thinking.

Krysrenee7, You make some very good points. This gives me alot more understanding about Capricorns and also Virgo's, the two signs I had asked about. I have never been involved romantically with a Cancer, but if I ever am what you shared will help 🙂

I meant to say that I need to find a way for myself where I don't take his moods personally because when he's down, I'm down and I don't like feeling this way. It sometimes makes me feel like I need to be with a sign that's more positive. I love all other other traits about him though,,,hardworking, ambitious, dedicated, down to earth. It's his depressive moods that I find hard to live with.

Dear Libra 67 or what ever Capricorn is the sign that is most depressed we look around and see all the idoits around us and relize this is it , it won't get any better might as well kill our selfs.

i know a cap that is often melancholic. unfortunately, he tends to use my leo warmth to boost himself. then when he gets that boost he needs he leaves me hanging for a while until he's down again. i gotta lotta love to give and all but i do feel like he literally "uses" me... like one who abuses drugs. that's it. i feel like he's addicted to me and that's why he can't seem to let me go.

I have found Cancer to be quite depressed most of the times.

I have also come across a Scorpio that not only is depressed but is depressing to be around.

I still say Capricorn

Capricorn. Their slave-driver planet Saturn does this to them. Cold harsh planet of Saturn always seems to throw the toughest, biggest, baddest obstacles at Capricorns. It's almost as if Capricorns are not allowed by the Gods to have fun.

But Caps should know this: Their ancient sign was Pan; the Greek God of Fun, Merry-making and endless sex (Pan used to chase all the nymphs in the forest and screw them senseless) 🙂
