Cancer Man Into Swinging Lifestyle

I honestly don't know what to make of this.

I recently met a wonderful cancer man - intelligent, charming, fun, kind... all sorts of wonderful things. In the course of getting to know each other, he told me about how he's into swinging. Yes, by swinging I mean going to clubs/parties for the express purpose of having sex with multiple partners.

Now this is something that I've been curious about for ages and I'm planning on taking him up on his offer to join him at a club this weekend, so there's no element of moral censure involved from my perspective.

What I am struggling with is how this fits in to some sort of broader personality profile for cancers. This is something that would make sense for me with a scorpio or a really freaky pisces, but not a sweet, nurturing cancer.

Can anyone help me reconcile all of those standard things that one reads about the cancer man's personality with this really, really sexually adventurous side?

Oh krobe, you'll find swingers in every city. It's the strangest thing. I've always been vaguely interested in it and then, in the space of three days, I've met three swingers. All by coincidence. All in a context where that's really the last thing you'd expect to hear from a person (unless you're used to that sort of casual conversation in bars). Now I'm convinced that they grow on trees.

I did read the freaky post, redrovertoo, and it didn't really get at my question. I understand that we all have our inner freaks and I'm totally supportive of anyone wanting to let their freak flag fly... I guess I'm curious about this particular form for my cancer man.

I can say that I'm interested in swinging simply because it's something new. I'm exploring. It's as much me testing my own boundaries as it is about something physical, and I don't know that this is inconsistent with virgos' intellectual bent.

For a cancer to be engaged in random sex with multiple partners... doesn't that go against their inherent nurturing streak? How can a person be so kind and loving and, at the same time, really into anonymous kink?

An interesting addendum... We did have sex for the first time right after we met and, afterwards, I was all about touching and cuddling and the like. He mentioned how much he loved the cuddling and that you didn't get that sort of intimacy while swinging. So he clearly seems to be missing that element in his life.

No I was just kidding. However, I am going out this weekend. I already have that planned. I already told my Cancer friend that I am going out. Usually I pop up at the club he goes to periodically just 2 drive him insane. He hates 4 me to pop up on him. LOL! However, I have never seen a man just go sit in the corner either. LOL! He usually is in SHOCK! I don't go out really at all.

Yeah, I have 2 agree with ABCR2, Cancers want a monogamous relationship. That is Y my Cancer friend wants me 2 leave my man 4 him. He says I have 2 completely belong 2 him. I can't have no one else in my life. BUT him. However, he still comes around when I don't budge to his comments.

I really trust my intuitive reading of this guy. He's very nurturing, insanely intelligent, kind, funny... All in all, a very, very nice guy and I refuse to believe that lots of sex means you're a fundamentally, irretrievably flawed human being.

(I mean, you can have lots of sex and be an emotional retard, but one doesn't necessarily mean the other)

But ok. Let's assumed he's warped. I'm just using that phrase as shorthand for saying he has some version of the issues that we all have.

If you're a cancer... what kind of issues would make you choose swinging?

I've seen libras and their need to escape drawing them into addiction. I've seen leos and their need to control transforming them into manipulative assholes.

What is it about a cancer that would lead them to get into swinging?

I think it is called emotionally unattached! A Cancer male can treat U very special and emotionally unattach himself in the same process. Esp if he is the playa type. Yeah, Cancer men can B playa just like the rest of men. However, I don't think he would ask a woman that he wants to have a serious relationship with 2 swing with him. Men (not just Cancers) ask women to swing if they don't C them in their future. No offense!
