Cancer man with Venus in Gemini??

Hi y’all I’m head over heels for this cancer guy, his moon in Pisces & his mars in cancer BUT his Venus is in Gemini?? Like I know usually Venus Gemini ppl can be fickle, scared of commitment, flirtatious even when in love their feelings are superficial but then his sun, moon & mars are all in water signs and usually they’re the opposite right? I guess I just wanna know how (much) this will affect him in a relationship bc I’m a sun cancer gal, Venus in Leo & moon in Scorpio so my love is INTENSE. I just don’t wanna pursue something w someone if they’re gonna put in only half the effort that I do and I don’t want my love to be taken for granted/mistaken as smothering & caging? I'm kinda similar in terms of placements to said guy (water moon, cancer mars/gemini venus). I best respond (i think) to mental stimulation and get bored rather easily and be "seen" as flaky or hot/cold. You can take all this with a grain of salt though.

Actually, you're probably extremely compatible. If you approach it the right way. Two cancers understand each other instinctively, but both can be moody and conflating moods can make or break especially in the early stages.
