Cancers: Cat person or Dog person?

So I thought this would be a fun little poll. Pretty much every Cancer I know is an animal lover, more cat lovers than dog lovers though. Just curious, what does everyone identify themselves as? Did you grow up with one or the other? What pets do you have now? I love to hear about other's pets 🙂

I'm a cat person, through and through. I love all animals, dogs too, but I prefer cats as pets. I grew up with cats, but I don't know if that's necessarily the reason I prefer them. Right now I have 3 cats, a longhair angora mix named McLovin, an orange longhair tabby named Weasley, and a shorthair black cat named Emma-Jane. In true Cancerian fashion, I love my cats more than most people 🙂 I have pics on my profile.

My cancer guy friend grew up with a dog....now he has a cat...named tabby. I have a pit bull (Titian) he loves my dog....always rough housing with him...its cute! I think he's the type that likes both.

i like cats i have a kitten i like dogs smalls dogs tho i had a pitbull for 3 years 2 much work lol.

cats are easy to take care of and they kill roaches and mice lmao.

My mother is a Cancer, and she has a long-haired Persian cat named Bubba.

He is hillarious.

I call him "Fat Cat" a la "Rescue Rangers" because he is a big fatso, hahahaha.

I like just about everything on Animal Planet, and I also like History Channel.

"Orangutan Island" being one of my favorites.

Treefrogger and I really like "Unsolved Mysteries" reruns tooo!!!

I looove everything on the Investigation Discovery channel. You two would definitely like it as well if you enjoy "Unsolved Mysteries". Documentaries and anything else based on true stories peaks my interest.

I also like a few cheesy reality shows *ducks in shame*. But hey, they're fun to watch to keep your mind off more stressful things, so I stand by them. 😛 This season's Celebrity Apprentice is hilarious.

My favorite new series is Breakout Kings on A&E. It's really good & I highly recommend it!

Hey, we all have guilty pleasures with regard to TV.

I refer to it as "junk food TV," since it is certainly non-value add.

My favorite junk food TV shows are "The Hills," "Manswers" and "World's Wildest Police Shoot-outs!"

Narrator: "...and this guy thought he could get away from the police!!!!

(ENTER Large Freight train impacting the car as it crosses the tracks swiftly)

Narrator: "...But he thought wrong!!!"

BTW, I love "The Hills" because I love to despise Spencer Pratt (Leo), and really like Whitney (Pisces) and Lauren (Aquarius).

I actually wouldn't mind Donald Trump as President, and like his show as well.

He would FIRE a lot of the criminal politicians hiding out in DC!

Exactly. Everyone needs some "junk food TV". I totally agree with you about Spencer (what a tool) and Whitney (what a sweetie)!

It's really unfortunate that Lauren and Whitney left, but then again, everyone has to move on!

The producers were crazy if they actually thought a relationship wrecker like Kristin could save the show.

What a fool's errand that certainly was!

And what was up with her taking Justin Bobby away from Audrina?!?

Kristin is such a sleaze.

Don't worry girl, I'm the same way, addicted to TV. I don't think I've missed an episode of Days of our Lives in over 10 years! 🙂

I LOVE puppies especially pomeranians and yorkies, but i seem to be obssessed with cats. I like both though.

My moms a cancer and she hates cats. I have a dog that she grew to love.

I didnt grow up with animals so the dog that I have for 4 months now is like the best thing ever.

He loves me non stop....but they are a lot of work versus cats.

But I would say dog but not opposed to cats.

i feel like im both..although ive always wanted a cat i had dogs, coudlnt have a cat cuz of my parents. when i get my own place i def want a little kitty of own.

I have two dogs...

"Pretty Girl" (Shih-Tzu)


and "Santiago El Nino Riviera" (Chihuahua mix perhaps).


I grew up with cats and dogs, but I've NEVER received as much love as I do from my pups. Santiago especially since I've had him since he was only 4 weeks old. He is SUCH a momma's boy!!! I can't even go to the bathroom without him busting in LOL!

I USED to love cats (as I also believe I was a feline in a past life), but I haven't looked at a cat since my babies came into my life!

LOL, I can understand where you're both coming from. I like dogs from a distance and I like the idea of a dog, but I don't like the jumping or the barking. That, and cats are so much easier to care for. I love my cats because like dogs they greet me when I come home and we play together quite a bit (and I don't have to go outside to do it). The best part about cats is the quiet time when you curl up on the couch and watch tv together 🙂 I respect dog people though, it's one step short of having a child...maybe that's why I haven't gotten a dog b/c I'm terrified of having children haha!

i am a dog person because mainly i feel that the bond is greater between a dog and owner. the nice thing about a dog is i can pet it and train it on my terms.

but if we are to be more fair, i think both pets are probably good depending on your personality. A well trained dog is an amazing pet and a lot of people mis-pick dogs because they base it on how they look or what dog movie was last popular. It should be a match between your personality and breed. the worst match (and most common) is a breed that is too hyper for a person's life style (think of the dog that chews EVERYTHING because he has too much nervous energy or is hungry for attention because he is solitarily confined to the yard all day). A well trained (obedience training, which improves the bond between master and dog) dog that is well taken care of (including regular walks and food), is a joy to be around and truly is man's best friend.

i've been around cats that have been a lot of fun and their obsession with laser light pointers is amusing. but for me, even the best bond i can have with a cat does not compare to that i can have with a dog.

it is certainly more work to have a dog than a cat, that is for sure, and more expensive!
