should i try?

Its been a month since I last had any communication with my cancer guy. I sometimes think about him I missed to closeness and the time spent together. Should I try and reach out?

Yes, just give it a basic try and see how he reacts. No harm in that. But don't waste too much time if he is not making sufficient effort.

We would hang out all the time talk cuddle and sleep together (not sex just sleep) We did eventually have sex I initiated it and it only happened once. We kissed goodbye afterwards we still communicated via text and ph calls. I started developing feeling for him and felt like he was backing up and asked him about it. He responded saying it's in my head. He stood me up a few times not to long after that the respond to text messages stop and he stop answering my calls.

NONONONO, do NOT reach out to him! From what you've said, he is either e-tethering you, or pulling a slow fade, but neither are a good thing! If you reach out you're making it easy for him to keep you as an option without having to put in any effort, do you really want to be that girl? If he misses you, and wanted to see you, he will contact you. Especially if you didn't end in a fight. But if he does ever reach out, be weary of the e-tethering, make sure he's asking you to meet in real life, and if he flakes on that, end it for good.

I forgot the background to this story and confused it with another situation. Don't call him, let go and move on.

IMHO, let him go. Girl, the same plot is read about cancers everywhere here. As I understood they're those who don't care. If he comes back, and make you sure he's the one, maybe then there's a chance.. idk...
If you want to be ALWAYS the one who invests, then of course follow some advice how to act to have him back.
