The Charming Cancer Male

The Cancer male - Prince Charming. A gentlemen, polite, well spoken, essentially tailor made. He's the epitome of a traditional male. Moral, earnest, and ladies - he's the marrying kind.

The male crab likes to nest and become a good provider. He's an artistic one and very creative. His spirit must be allowed to flourish. A hopeless romantic whose head is full of daydreams and visions of happiness. The ever so happy family man, he's the perfect lover, husband and boyfriend. And sex is an act of worship to the male crab. He's the sign of sexual potential.

Unlike his counterpart, the female crab, who is a bundle of raw emotion, the male crab is more centered and cool. His emotions are not worn on his sleeve like that of the female crab who is a notorious well-spring of bubbling emotions. The male crabs Fourth House is one that rules the general public at large. It's no accident that the most successful leading men on screen are Cancerians.

And ladies, here's the great part - our male cancer was born under the Mother Principle. Because of this, he views life from a matriarchal point of view. In other words, he recognizes the feminine power as the supreme ruler of the cosmos. He kindly answers to the females direction.

Our male crab's age range is that of 21-28, which represents a time in life when a young man is teetering on the brink of maturity - and at the ripe age of marrying, ready to embark on a life of togetherness with his female ruler. He's seeking his Cinderella. Similarly, a male crab may even go so far as to "save himself" for marriage. He's romantic and traditional - the chivalrous man.

He's conditioned through experience for his future. Our male Cancer is a cardinal (active) water (emotional) sign and his planetary ruler is the moon. A planet which has an intimate, yet sympathetic, relationship with mother earth. A planet which represents moods.

Our male cancer shoots for a noble greatness, however, he must find a nurturing relationship with a female queen in order to complete it.

His number is 4, that of structure and protection. As well, it represents the four seasons or the "moods" of mother earth. He is incredibly responsible, yet at times, he is incredibly needy being an emotional water sign. In an instant, the male Cancer can touch a woman's soft spot. As if preprogrammed with all the right moves at birth and the correct balance of emotions that he uses as tools to understand and heed the direction of his queen.

Appearing seemingly wet behind the ears with his notorious lost boy expression, our male crab is up to something. And his association with the God Perceval tells us: Perceval name means "to pierce the valley." This is a hidden agenda that he wears under a cloak of dashing good looks, morals and manners.

After all, he is considered "The Player" by Sextrology and he hopes to inspire a motherly love from his intended queen.

Our Cancer male can be made "whole" by the feelings he invokes in his lover towards him. Not one of lust, but one of sentimentality - mothering, caring, nurturing. He longs for a sense of motherly protection from his mate. However, the male crab is good at masking his feelings towards the female population when in the company of his male counterparts. He won't be admitting that he digs chick flicks and love songs.

He's Mr. Nice Guy - as American as apple pie. The kind of guy you'd gladly bring home to mama. As symbolized by the crab, our Cancer man is very, very soft inside - but is good at protecting this truth with his hard outer shell of protection.

Our Cancer male is creative and inventive, thus his association with his cardinal water qualities - that of action filtered through emotion. Many a "starving artist" is a Cancer male. However, his Fourth House is also one of commerce. He expects to get paid handsomely for his creativity, and most times, does. And it's the constant rush or flooding of emotion that he pulls his inspiration and creativity from.

As a result of this, the male crab may feed off of his female host for the wealth of inspiration she brings to him in the form of emotion. Our male crab sneaks up on women. Cloaking himself under his hard shell and disarming women by making them feel he has no agenda.

He's cool and detached prior to the pounce, pretending to be nonchalant but succeeding in planting the seeds of desire deep within her. She can imagine a future with this one. To the male Cancerian, a female is not simply a vessel for sexual release.

She is a worshipped well-spring of life: one from which the male crab will drink freely and find inspiration. The male crab makes a woman feel secure - his number one asset. She lets down her guard and does a free fall right into Prince Charming's lap. He considers himself a hero.

He knows what a woman wants. He's sensitive, a good listener (although mostly pretending) - he's different from other guys. He possess the ability to make a woman feel as if she is endlessly interesting and he's very good at making a woman feel as if moving into the next inevitable steps in the relationship is HER idea - but don't let him fool you.

He's coaxing you there, knowing all the while, it's HIS idea - he's just giving you the time you need trusting that you will ultimately make the decision he wishes to see you make.

He's grateful for a woman's affections and as a result, he's a loaded cannon in the bedroom. So much so, that at times, he'll apologize for his behavior. Playing a "mother may I" role. Playing the eternal 21 year old (his signs association with the age of 21-28), he represents "The Graduate" - developing gradually. Mrs. Robinson anyone?

Female power is sexually arousing to the male crab. He fully embraces his sensitivity and taps into an emotional place. He relishes in being mothered by a female. But beware: the more a Cancer male feels safe with his queen ruler, the more apt he may be to play out his darker fantasies elsewhere.

Thus, keeping his queen on the pedestal by dare not asking her to partake of such dark activities. He has too much respect for her. This type of activity may rear it's ugly head as the male cancer moves into mid life crisis age.

Don't let the male crab slip through your fingers in this way. Open yourself to his wishes and all will be well. After all, our male crab is a hopeless romantic forever lost in daydreams where he is the leading man - the hero - tailor made to the specifications of a woman's wishes.

Their egos actually arent a inflated as I expected. They are ultra confident and ultra competent...but there's something shy in there too. I think they come across as so powerful and they work so hard so that they feel they are overcoming that "not good enough" complex.
