Capricorn pulling away

I have been dating a cap since late May/June, he was actually someone who I used to work with! Long story short at someone's leaving drinks, after one too many I told him he had the loveliest smile ( he always looked grumpy at work) and asked him to kiss me. A few dates down the line we decided to be official.
For someone who seemed so reserved he was very chatty, messaging every day, wanting to meet up a lot saying very sweet unexpected things. Even discussing going to a festival he liked the next year!

Recently We haven't seen a great deal
Of each ther due to work. We still message everyday though, but sometimes I feel like he's putting off messaging me (I can see he's been online but not bothered to reply to my message for an hour or more).
Judging by what I've read about caps on here, is this normal behaviour? He doesn't talk about emotions really either. Whenever we're together it's great, and he has the biggest smile on his face whenever I turn up at his. Am I just reading too much into something thats actually nothing?

Oh correction, the few times I have spoken to him drunk he has opened up a lot more. Saying things like 'i would have gone back home if I hadn't met you' 'im really glad we get along so well.. Remind me to tell you that more often'
