I ve started a new job,for 1 week,now.iam learning a lot of stuff,in a cultural domain.
My boss is Cap woman, who started this job more than 1 year ago,who made a huge progress for the institution she does represent.
The institution hired 2 more people,me and my coleague.
I feel, also my colegue, that we kind of bothering my boss, with all the questions about our responsabilities.
How is Cap woman as manager?
Iam a Virgo, hardworking and shy(seems my shyness iritates my boss, who thinks i should have more balls(iam a woman-)

I used to be a boss.

Don't feel bad for asking questions the first week. She should have been thorough in training you and explaining how things are done, but sometimes capricorns are running in six directions at once and we are overwhelmed and might miss something.

I am pretty task oriented and don't like being interrupted with pointless questions. It's irritating. lol! However, I would much rather someone ask me a question if they don't understand something than do it wrong and I have to go in and fix it. That's more irritating. Of course the first month, I'll be very patient and won't appear irritated if you interrupt me.

Just do your best, be thorough, don't make careless errors, read manuals and policies/procedures and try to figure things out for yourself first. This will show her you have a brain and have tried to figure it out by thinking for yourself. She will respect you more this way.

Basically she would rather have you do it correctly than erroneously and she would like that you are taking initiative to take control of your own learning.

So ask questions. Just don't ask the same question 15 times otherwise, she will start to question your competence.

You need to leave the shyness at the door. I can be shy, too and I understand it, but I am most comfortable at work (once I know what I'm doing) and I really don't understand shyness in work setting. Work is like putting on the comfy PJs to me and that's where I thrive.

Also, shyness will hold you back from promotions and such. People will think you're not confident and bascially unsure, therefore, they won't think you responsible and won't give you a chance to shine. You won't even get noticed, you'll get overlooked and swept under the rug.

Try to put on a mask and fake it till you become more comfortable.
