Texas isn't too bad, actually. I think we're better off than a lot of areas. They are especially in need of men with a blue collar aspect - oil field, electricians, manufacturing, stuff like that.

All is well here. Spending lots of money on my personal money pit (the house I bought), but everything is proceeding and I can't really complain too much. New siding is happening this week... then ripping out old drywall, getting the spray-foam insulation for the place... then new drywall... money and toil, money and toil, etc etc etc. It's worth it though. Still 100% debt free on the whole thing 🙂

You're a smart gal, you'll get there.
Believe me, it comes with it's own headaches LOL It's progress though, and I saved for a long time to do it.... and bought very smart. A little luck played into it too, I got a very good deal... just one that I knew was going to come with some necessary work involved.
That's so great! It helps that you're handy, too. I thought about buying a foreclosure or something out here and fixing it up but the prices are insane. I'd need to sell myself on a street corner for years to get a down payment. LOL! Only kidding.click to expand
@caplove thats my goal after i save up and clean my credit to try and buy a forclosed home and fix it up to my liking but they are so strict on the guidelines
u just have to not have to much on ur credit thats all and they do extensive checks ur income etc u just have to have your head on straight with these mortgage companys

Fishin' holes, lakes, golf, hunting, mud trails, bon fires, fish fries, skeet shooting, go carts, four wheelers, river tubing, water parks, Six Flags, museums (in the city), sports, laser tag, horse races, gambling boats within an hour's drive, night clubs, malls....lots!
Some of it you might have an hour's drive, some a 20 minute drive and some is right in your back yard.

I'm going on five weeks without eating red meat (pork & beef) and soon poultry. I speak canine and work for a large not for profit in the north bay. I enjoy adventure, sports and like to take care of my body. I enjoy good coffee, craft beers, the ocean breeze and complete silence. I should also mention that I'm from the future.
