I don't own any pets. I work long hours so I cna't have any right now but my roomate has a 5 year old cat and a 9 month old kitten.

The 5 year old male cat just likes his butt scratched, eating, and loafing around. He can play football, sit on command, lie down on command and give you a kiss on command.

The 9 month old kitten she likes stealing things out of your purse, eating bugs, and chasing paper balls. She doesn't understand any tricks yet but im 1/2 way successful in teaching her how to sit on command.

Awwww.. cute pups!! I have a cat and really want a dog (or two), but I need to wait. I want them to have some room to run around.

what kinda dog?

I haven't really thought about it! :S But I do know I'll get her from a shelter. It'll probably be a short-haired one, most likely, or just one w/ a mellow personality. I always wonder how they'll get along w/ a cat in the house. Not too sure if there's a way to tell.

Some shelters cat test the dogs, if the dog was an owner surrender I would hope it would be something that they ask the asshole when they dumped their family member. Regardless, you always want to introduce them gradually - don't just assume they'll immediately get along.

I had to put my 2 Dobermans down -- both within the last 6 months.

My female in February and my male on Memorial Day. 😢

Caliber has the best Avi on the site. I want to steal it.

😢 im sorry that took place i wished that could have been avoided

Thanks, me too.

They lived great, full lives though.

They were just shy of being 12 years old -- a good life span for Dobie's.

Dobermans are my type. What was your experience like with them?

Wonderful. Very loyal and affectionate dogs.

They don't like the cold, but I think you may have said that you are relocating to the southern US. Good idea if you want a Dobie.

Dobermans are called "Velcro dogs". They want to be with you, and will follow wherever you go. If you are up doing something, they will follow and observe. If you are sitting, they will sit at your feet. They are protectors at heart -- and think YOU are their baby.

They are perfect watchdogs as well. They are always "on patrol". No one will come near your place without your Dobie letting you know -- and them know! You won't need a house alarm, that's for sure! 😉

Btw, I'm sorry to hear about your loss Captenn! 😢

Thank you.

These things happen, though. You know that it will end sooner than you'd like going into the deal, but heartbreaking regardless.

Some of the best dogs I've ever had the pleasure of being around were Doberman's raised by females. In fact, female raised Doberman's made such an impression on me, it's what prompted me to pick the breed for myself.

They really are the total package. Athletic, powerful, protective, loyal, smart, and big ole babies at heart. They loved to be touched (by their owner), and if you aren't giving them enough attention, you will get your hand/arm lifted by a cold, wet nose - and perched on top of their head.

Is there anything sexier than seeing a woman walking a big, bad Doberman?

I think not.........

@highlyclassified.

Yup. THe 9 month old kitten will go to your purse if you leave it open and steal things out of it and probably randomly give it to someone.

She's stolen from my purse:

- Receipts
- Money
- My feminine hygeine products

etc. and she'll either give it to my roommate or give it to me or i'd find it all over the flower in my bedroom or the apartment.

It's actually funny that she's a little theif.
