Sorry for being petty.. but i need to know.

So, I work with this Capricorn chick.

She's all strong and silent and poker faced. Very put together, pretty and professional. Her presence demands respect.

But she's heard some rumour about me, and is basing me entirely on that rumour alone and just hasn't really given me a chance in our every day work lives. I know she talks about me behind my back. Because for one, I hear her sometimes. And for two, the conversations that other people have with me makes me think she's said something. When I found some dirt on her, I casually brought it up to her. I know its evil. But she goes and denies everything, and then says, "please don't spread it. I don't want to be looked at unprofessionally." But i feel like she has kind of done it to me, and that really pisses me off.

And also, this is really petty. But she was making some coffees behind the bar at the end of shift once, and i heard her say, "don't tell her you have one because then she'll ask for one." But then when she sees me eating fries ten minutes later, she asks for some of those. Like what in the entitled frick.

ANYWAYS.

I realise how ridiculous this sounds...

But does anyone have any idea of what the hell this mentality is where she thinks she can just do whatever the hell she wants with me?!

And by the coffee thing at the end of shift.. she was making another coworker a coffee before close.

Yeah but I don't like how she's making me look at work. And then asks me not to spread her stuff around. Which is fine, I wasn't going to. But I just thought it was a bit hypocritical.

She thinks she can do whatever she wants with you because she thinks she's better than you, not a very nice person, self centred, immature, and regardless of sun sign, a bully.

You should be reporting her unkind and totally unprofessional behaviour to your manager.

How old are you all, early 20s I bet, if I am wrong and your all older than 30s I'm very surprised she's not been pulled up about her behaviour before.

I think I'll try that.. just stop paying attention to her. I tried to be nice to her and tried to let her know the real me, but obviously it didn't work. I think back home I'd normally not care so much about things like this.

Basically she heard some scewed point of view of something through some friends of hers.. who I didnt really get along with when I first got to Australia. So I feel that they've painted some really bad picture of me.

Ugh.

You must have the thickest of skins from moving country! Lol

Caps = double standard hypocrites.

Food service= nutters.

Solution = not giving a shit and just not associating with those assholes.

They love to gossip. Small minded. Half the chicks I've worked with haven't even traveled internationally.

Xenophobia everywhere as well.

I notice if you TRY too hard they try to walk all over you.

When they saw I didn't give a fuvk about them or their lives they tried to know me. Don't open up and let your life known on a deep level.

They can use it against you.

I mainly chill with other expats. Or Aussies that have traveled and aren't under 25.

I've noticed that. You have to keep your cards close to the vest. I have a lot of experience with this here unfortunately. I have yet to open up to anyone completely and feel that things I say get misconstrued. But most people I work with are under 25. Dang uni town I'm in lol.

I think you're on to something with hanging with other foreigners and an older crowd.

my mother in law is cappy sun, and at work when she told us she heard rumours she never believes it.

she thnks people should be given benefit of the doubt and even then she is always forgiving and doesn't believe in nasty rumour stuff. She thinks that's not good character and integrity. my grandmother is also cappy and she also thinks the same. She gets more suspicious though, like why are people talking bad? those people talking bad probably are jealous. she don't trust people. lol god bless her and rest in peace grandma! she suffered so much in life and is so lovable.

so maybe this one is going to learn her lesson that to be bad and nastry is going to hit her hard in life.

I'm guessing that you are pretty and she is feeling threatened.

Just go on about your day. If she gives you a hard time about anything just be direct and put her in her place without drama. Her type feeds off drama. She will try to turn it around to make you the bad guy.
