Transit is real time current events.Progressions move at the rate of 1 day:1 year
The idea in progressed charts is that your entire life's decisions are mapped out over the immediate days after your birth. It is a chart dealing with fate, whereas transit are far more external, less personal and deal with will.
The progressed chart can be used as a stand alone chart but transits need the natal chart.
Thank you so much, which one is more widely used/accepted or is it just a preference?

Transits are widely used by far, just because they are universal and easy to talk about but not for any reason other than that
Progressions are far more meaningful for me but it is down to preference yes

Can someone explain to me the difference between a transit and progressions chart - and how does this all relate to your natal chart? I guess I'm just not sure how it all comes together. Thanks!!!
