Clearly spring is taking its sweet time getting here, which is unfortunate for me because I have literally no tolerance for the cold. Leaving my apartment means that I have to bundle up so much that I resemble someone going on an Arctic Expedition. How do you manage to stay warm?
Dressing for warmth
Posted by NemDeuxI was born in Russia but moved the U.S. when I was a young kid. My winter outfit is anything but stylish. I wear a long down coat that is so thick and bulky I can barely bend my arms. I also wear snow pants and huge winter boots. I’m always the most bundled up person wherever I go, but at least I stay warm.Posted by Oxannaare you from russia? your name implies something slavic ...

thankfully dressing warm can still be stylish. boots in winter. a wool-coat not too tight so you can wear a jersey/pullover underneath. and always a beanie or wool-cap; thick scarf and gloves. et voila. i think keeping your feet and head and neck warm is essential. then again; i love the colder months. summer drains my energy.
winter in central europe - if not hit by a cold russian climate front - is quite moderate. a few weeks ago we had -11/14 degrees ...a bit harsh for the face/nose but manageable lol 😂😨click to expand

50 F/10 C & below - I'm rocking Uniqlo Heattech tights or thermals under my pants.
50-40 F - leather/denim/wool jacket with a jumper/sweater/sweatshirt/hoodie under, light to medium-weight scarf
40-30 F - same except I might add a thin down jacket under my jacket, medium to heavy knit scarf
30 F & below - wool coat or down parka, oversized sweater, heavy-knit scarf, skully/beanie/earmuffs
20 & below - I might wear a neoprene or surgical mask
Wearing a lot of lotion also helps when it's freezing out.

Firstly i grow a beard with my man privileges.
Other then that I put on a tight under armor of clothing. Around here we call it long johns, but that might sound odd to others around the world. Basically its a tight layer of clothing that goes on the torso and legs, which helps hold in body heat. I also like a nice thick pair of socks, and a thick insulated jacket. For my head I wear a beanie. Some places call it a toboggan, but basically its a hat that completely covers the head and ears. If i were a women id wear a face mask or scarf, but since I'm a proud owner of a beard I have that area covered.
If i were lost in a fridge location with no first world supplies i would trap and kill furry animals, and use the pelt to cover the same areas. If we ever go into another ice age you will want to know that information. You want a thin inner layer to hold in heat, and a thick outer layer to keep the chill out. You will be a warm human surviving the elements in no time. Though if it comes to surviving the cold and wetness like rain, you would want tough dry leather rather then fur.
