My short answer would be "Meaningless, but hopefully pleasurable."
I think signs aren't as important as the special connection you feel with your partner for who they are, not just for what the generalized idea of their personality is (which is all you get when you think of people in terms of their sign).

Being a Gemini woman i find myself longing for what other people have just to find me having it & still want something... more. For example, they say a Pisces M/Pisces F love affair is remarkable/ fabulous/ spectacular.
I'm married to a Pisces and its great, but is it as great as having sex with the same sign as urself? Or does it make no difference?
