gemini and aquarius

he and i have been friends for years. we flirt we go out all the time. he always makes me feel so special no matter what. random good morning text or just a text through out the day to let me know I'm beautiful. but he has never tried anything i mean we have talked about it and all he said is he will surprise me one day. the only time anything every happened he told me it was between me and this other girl and he choosed her. it ruined our friends and tooks us a good year and half to get back to where we were. so here we are again. laughing flirting and having a good ole time. then he tells me he loves pushing my buttons but hope he doesn't push them too far. i smile and remind him the disaster it was last time. he asked what would happen if he kissed me and i
said i could feel nothing and be totally fine or i could feel something and shut down on you because u don't want a relationship and my emotions will be involved. this has been 4 years we stop talking and start talking again only be back in the same place. what do i do ?

we are great friends and i would never want to risk that again. but he makes it impossible not to fall for him. and then he gets upset when he does things like showing up at my door step with soup or cold meds or cuddling with me till i fall sleep and i get confused with him
