Hi, I've been a member for a short while and I'm fascinated by the similarities of behaviour types found in each of the zodiac signs. Being a gemini girl, I am understanding the character traits I share with other geminis more these days but only recently became more aware of our different characters. Being the symbol of the twins I half expected that senario to be good twin bad twin type thing. But in my case, I found that I'm either serious or playful. Serious as in, very academic, very knowledgeable about a variety of subjects and having a wide variety of talents. Playful, in terms of behaving immaturely, especially around the opposite sex and also showing appreciation for the simple things in life. How does this dual nature manifest in other geminis?
Gemini duality

Well for me...
Im a metalhead... 99% of my listening is metal. I play bass in a metal band too. But sometimes, I need something different... Eminem, U2, Belinda Carlisle, The Beatles, Cyndi Lauper... it all goes hand in hand with Cannibal Corpse, Napalm Death and Iron Maiden...
I despise unprofessionalism and childishness... but at the age of 27, I still collect fluffy toys and collectables from my favourite childhood TV shows, games etc. I never actually grew up (nor do I ever intend to)...
I can be the laziest piece of crap on the earth... and then theres times when you can't switch me off!! I'll be doing 100 things at once!!

my duality is between happy and sad... i'm either wanting to have laughs and fun, or i'm extremely down and silent.

Where do I start. The duality is very present with me. Not sure if the myriad of air placements in my chart has anything to do with it but, it's very noticeable. Here are a few examples.
With suitors I either like very professional older males or I could swing the other way and get with some starving artist who dresses like a bum. There usually isn't much in between.
Colors I seem to be attracted to the odd or semi creepy like Tim Burton's use of black/white patterns, checkers, and so on. He just happens to also be one of my favorite directors. He utilizes both child like wonderment littered with an eerie feel to it. Best example of that would be (if you are a gamer) the Little Sister's from Bioshock. Taking two things that normally don't belong together and mesh them as one.
Music wise I have been into only electronic for the past 20 something years. But it depends on my mood either super dark ominous D&B or Dubstep, then I can swing the other way and go listen to some upbeat funky house. I also like industrial a lot. Like Skinny Puppy and NIN.
Shows yeah don't get me started. LOL! I watch a TON of adult swim, cartoon network, and yes Nickelodean. I loooove Spongebob. Invader Zim, etc. Weird right?
As far as conversations I seem to be having a convo with myself seeing that I can sit on both sides of the fence and give myself or other people many options when it comes to an issue.

Mine is very similar to you. What's your placements?
See, the twin nature is more of a dynamic nature. We don't exist one two different planes how it makes it sound like, but rather we adjust to situations and or adjust our mood on the fly. It can be very roller coaster like, but it is merely a fast adjustment to the scenario. Other signs have a mood and stay in the mood. We merely pick our mood based on the scenario. We're smart when we need to (and want to), playful when we feel like we want.
It's funny; I'm an absolute clown at work. But the moment things become serious, or I pull my engineering or any other academic backing, I change from this what appears to be a hilarious immature kid to this serious old knowledgeable man. Half the time they don't understand what I'm saying and are probably sitting there thinking, I thought this kid was a...kid...not this friggen crazy intelligent guy.
I know Aries moons love it. 😉click to expand
You sound so very much like me. One colleague told me that she was impressed about how I am able to block out or put on a shelf at the back of my mind negative thoughts in order to see through tasks in hand. I have an ability to adjust my mood where necessary and can do it as well as any Hollywood actress could portray. Similarly, although I'm not a clown at work, I've been told I'm hysterical with some of the things I come out with, proper dumb blonde steryotype. However when may serious twin comes out to play I can sometimes feel the breeze from the tummbl

I can relate to being a lazy sod at one extreme and I can do this magnificantly, yet at the opposite end I can work relentlessly without stopping until I've completed what I've set out to do.
My biggest concern is my indecisive mind, how do you manage to control it if this is something you experience?

I totally relate to your taste in men. I can absolutely be attracted to extremes of the spectrum with regards to image, but it's usually the temperament, voice and content of discussion that sways me.

And that's how I've been lately as well. This is the only thing I notice that actually goes towards the twin worthy argument. 😢 I friggen hate it. Today, I feel like keeping to myself but I'm just as talkative as ever. It's like both "twins" are going at it today.click to expand
yea.... i don't like it either... today, i caught myself expressing my thoughts out loud. there wasn't anyone here at the time............. O_o

Awwwwww...that's cute. I still have my teddy bear since the age of 4 & I love it like a member of my family. Poor thing is so old & falling apart but I couldn't ever get rid of her. 🙂
I still want to jump in the colorful balls at Chuck E. Cheeses...😄
Plurality rather than duality is my affliction, lol. I have multiple personalities, interests, and goals. I can be serious and focused at work, and then childlike and silly at other times, or shy, observant, withdrawn and outgoing, all in the same day!
Our child like curiosity is a constant throughout our lives. It keeps us young.
We love to play. Most adults forget what that is, and consider play to be the domain of children, but we don't.
There's an innocence to us that we never lose, despite the slings and arrows. Optimism will always rise again, it's our nature.

Yes. I feel that my moods and personalities are fluid, rather than existing in polarizing categories.

+1...I can truly identify with this post, as this is most accurate of me. I have often felt I have a myriad of personalities, instead of a dual nature, and at any given time, who/how I am is dependant upon the situation, the people in company, the place where I am at, at that particular time, etc. I find, I am more like a chameleon, that basically blends into the givrn moment.
Where I do notice the duality is that I tend to want to be in the midst of everything/everyone, yet at other times, I greatly treasure and seek out solitude away from eveything and everyone.
