what is alter ego?

apart from second self does alter ego have another meaning as well?
when you meet a person of the opposite sex and he/she has the same character traits, same ideas, same mentality..is this an alter ego? can you say that this person is your alter ego? or is an alter ego fictional?

thanks m&mgem... i read a post on the gemini board earlier this day which made me curius about all this...and i have done a little search on the internet..what came up was really disappointing...the examples that were given for alter egos were like:
Jim Morrisson -the Lizard King
Batman - Bruce Wayne
Jekyll and Hyde
etc

so basically alter ego was defined as the wanna be self subconsciously..or the exact opposite of oneself!

I wonder what it is like when you find your alter ego? You say you'd understand that immediately? Do you think there is only one alter ego for each one of us?

Seriously..i don't know what is wrong with me ....i question many things lately...some kind of philosophical and innerself search crisis i guess.....🙂 🙂

don;t know about the leo-guys..never met one. but 3 of my best friends are lionesses...I totally trust them... they will never betray you for other men and they don't get competitive in a mean way... when other women usually do get competitive and jealous...
anyway we are very easy to read...and that is good for the other signs i guess..not for ourselves 😢 especially in relationships...

Question => Are the scoprio guys as interesting and mentally stimulating as the geminis? I thought because both signs are secretive and perceptive they would be equally interesting...but i have been seeing this scorpio guy lately....it seems to me he knows lots about relationships and peoples emotions ....but all our conversations seem to revolve around those issues....sadly......I used to date a gem and i have to say i was really in love with his brains beliefs incedible depth...I wish scorps had that...!
