Mermaid I don't mind talking about it on here - it's my older brother who has it not me.
I was just wondering if anyone knew anyone who had been severely affected but who had effectively managed on medication as opposed to having surgery. My brother was in hospital for a month a while back and the consultant said there was a good chance he'd be back in and said that it may be best for him to just have the surgery. Considering however that would mean him having a colostomy bag for 6 months, and the fact that he's only 35 with two young children, he's understandably not keen.
I'm just hoping the steroid medication eventually settles it down, he's still having a lot of bother.
Cancersun - as far as I knew once you have it that's you for life? Could it be your brother simply has managed to control his with medication and therefore doesn't "suffer" as much with symptoms?

I'm not looking for info as such as I've read tons about it, what I'd like is to hear from anyone who either suffers from it or knows someone.
Thanks.
