How about planning out a better diet and implementing exercise?

Completely agree with this.

My problem with many of those shakes is:

1) Many of thems have such a high sugar content (i.e. muscle milk) which eventually turns into fat and also high carb calories
2) Sometimes your best source of protien is from foods themselves. Sometimes too much whey is not good for the body.
3) Shakes were meant to be used as a source of nutrients for before and after workout. If you want to use them to replace one of three meals it is not adviseable. You want the protien to help with muscle repair. So unless you are a competitive athlete or someone who really hits the gym hard, I think you can get adequet protien from food.

Never good to replace a meal with a shake, your body will soon go into starvation mode. fill your body full of healthy calories regulary to build up your motabalism, add some excercise and the weight will soon drop off!
