Posted by pisceswoman123Yes stress is one of the reasons, aswell as loss of control. For each there are varying breathing habits-neither of which are correct. I am seriously looking into yoga. Do you avoid alcohol also?
Yes. After my father died I used to wake up in the middle of the night with the beginning of one but I always managed to calm it down. Super scary.
For me was due to stress.
I have always belly breath as I often practice yoga and meditation.

Posted by wekinoThe most terrifying part is the heart rate going up-literally like i'm running. Its INSANE. I actually had enough of feeling that the other day and said F YOU to my body, you wanna run lets go-BAD IDEA. Of course I looked at the bpm monitor and showed me in fat burning mode like 2 mins in and that put me in a panic LOL! I wrote myself a note in my mobile while walking around the block. Its actually pretty terrifying. Not fun at all. I take it you dont smoke weed anymore?
Used to get these while smoking weed. The only shit that helped was controlling my breathing and walking or running.
You must understand what a panic attack is to properly defend against it.
Its quite simple: your body feels like youre exercising but your mind is at ease yet your body thinks/feels as if it's running a marathon.
This is why you use simple deep breaths to neutralize the panic attack.
Breathe in through nose, filling your stomach with air - hold for 10 seconds - release slowly via mouth. Repeat until you come back to life

Posted by LibraLovesHimYes, I love yoga and I do karate too. Both are good for learning to breathe.Posted by pisceswoman123Yes stress is one of the reasons, aswell as loss of control. I watched my bf breathing the other night and how his tummy would rise and fall, mine never done this, i'm now making a conscious effort to do it-although it feels a little unnatural for now I hope it will just become a normal healthy habit.
Time to retrain and its a strange but good feeling.
Anyone who suffers from anxiety or any symptoms should look more into belly breathing.
