Leo man broke up with pisces woman

I’m a Pisces woman.

We met when we were in Thailand. He is 24 and I’m 30 and traveled to 7 different countries in the course of 3 months. Afterwards, I had to come back to the states, but he continued traveling. He even came to visit me in June for 1 month.

We never fought, we never argued, I thought he is the sweetest person I’ve met, he is the one. We loved and adored each other and even made plans to travel together later. He is from Switzerland, I’m from the US. We said that we are going to make it work by moving to each other’s country.

He has been backpacking for more than 1.5 years, almost 2 years now. His trip is ending and he will be heading home soon.

Yesterday, he panicked and started asking me how am I going to find a job in Europe, how is he going to work in the US, and how are we going to make this work….etc. I told him I don’t have all the answers yet, but I’m going to try hard to find a job there. But, I had a sense that he didn’t want me as part of his future anymore.

Next morning, he said he still loves me and he is still mine. He still would like to come visit me for Christmas. He told me that he is going for a walk and he was gone for 9 hours. After he came back, he told me that he wanted to break up with me. He said that he is too young to have such a committed relationship. He loves me still but he needs to figure out what he wants to do next on his own. I asked if he wants to figure it out with me and he simply said no.

Everything was fine before. We never fought even we were in a long-distance relationship. My friends back home thought we had something really special going on as well. I’m not sure why all of the sudden he went cold turkey, got really scared about the future and decided he can’t be with me anymore.

Is it possible to have him back? Will he regret his decision? Maybe when he is older and when he is ready.
