The Binary Star Date

After play rehersal (yes I am in a play) on Saturday, one of the cast members asks if I could take her home. He car was broken. I said sure. On the way to her house I commented that I was hungry and she smiled. I asked her if she wanted to go to lunch. She said she didn't have any extra money as her car needed a lot of repairs. So I said, I didn't ask if you had money, I asked if you wanted to go to lunch. I thought being a smart ass would make her some how want to go. I guess it worked because she said yes. We went to lunch and it was fun. I dropped her off and that was that. She asked for my number so we could keep in touch.

Fast forward to Sunday night. She calls me and then out of the blue she says do you date? I swallowed real hard and I was like um, yea, kind of, maybe, sometimes, because I hadn't been asked out by a woman ever. She then said I think you are so pretty. Double swallow !!!

Well then she says I would like to introduce you to my cousin. Whew !!! I was like ok. So she started to tell me about him. 34, male nurse (I snicked), no kids, and wait for it........................a LEO. She said this like it was some kind of affliction. I said well thats funny because so am I. She said you are. I said yes, I am. She asked if I could text her a pic of me. At first I was like um NO but then I thought he would probably want to know what I look like because I wouldn't go out sight unseen.

So I asked for the DOB.

I'm excited and I have never even talked to him on the phone. That is so funny. I think I am just excited because I can be myself. I tried to be everything but myself with the Cap because I was too flashy, too loud, too funny, I spent too much money, I ate too many sweets and I got my hair done too often and well I could continue but I think you get it.

My ex was a Leo with a Cappy Moon....they make the best boyfriends....very attentive, loyal and stable..a little lazy though but not to a fault.

Mind if I ask what the play is about?

Not at all.

It's about residents in a nursing home. Everyone is supposed to be like 90 years old. They go back and talk about the mistakes and lessons they learned in life.

One woman is bitter her son put her there. She keeps talking about her dead husband. She kept comparing her son to her husband through outs the son's life. Made him miserable.

Another woman did not want to let go of her youth. She partied well into her 60s. Going to bars and clubs looking for love.

Another's man son was muedered and he spent his whole life angry at the killer.

And then there is a man who is a bit different, mentally slow even. He is the happiest of all the nursing home residents and he is the one who gives the life's lessons. Go figure, the person who probably had the hardest life turns out to be the happiest.

Anyway, my part is small. I am one of the nursing home gossips. I talk about all the other nursing home residents but in a very dramatic way.

This is my second play. I did the first one last year. Who would have thought I would try my hand at acting at 36. I am really good too. At least that is what the Director tells me. He is very hard on everyone though. I have wanted to quit several times.

nala, I've been playing with the idea of local plays too. I've never in my entire life thought I'd want to do it but it seems like I would really enjoy it. The only experience I had was a christmas play when I was six. LOL

may I ask how you even got started?

I tried looking up local theatres but everyone seems very seasoned and they don't offer acting lessons.

Well, I had a friend who was doing it. One of the cast members got injured or something. They asked me if I could do it just one time. Be a fill in.

I did it and they were impressed because I learned the lines in a day. The lines were very simple and it wasn't like far fetched. The first play I was a wife who made her husband chose between the kids and her. It wasn't a difficult part. I kind of just pretended it was me and went from there.

Anyway, the Director sent me an e-mail this year and asked me if I could do him a favor and read this part. The part I am doing now.

It is fun but it is a lot of work for maybe like 2 or 3 performances. I ask myself if it is worth it. We practiced every other weekend (all day Saturday) and now since the play is in 3 weeks we practice every weekend. Sometimes, he makes people do their part over like 5 times in a row. It is horrible sometimes because the Director wants perfection and we just want fun.

I haven't talked to him yet so I hope it goes well. She sent me a picture of him and he looks ok.

I would go on a date with a women Elle. I would like to see how it feels. If she tried to kiss me though I don't know what I would do.

There is this one girl I know who looks and acts just like a man. I mean she wears boxer shorts and everything. She is hot and she has a ton of women who want to date her. Straight women no less. Odd

@ Seraph , he said we are going national in June/2013 but you need to audition for the role. I am still debating he is neurotic and we are performing for seniors and people in rehab. I can only imagine how he will be if we are performing for REAL. Yikes
