Mind over matter. It is not big deal. I had several health problems as a small kid and spent a fair amount of time in the hospital after a spleenectomy. I had my blood drawn three times a day and became used to it. I always watch when getting my blood drawn now. Needles don't upset me at all really.
I hate needles, and especially hate having my blood drawn. I usually get quite light-headed when I get my blood drawn (somewhat squeemish and low blood pressure). I didn't think that I was going to do too well when I got my tattoo recently, but I only had to take 2 breaks.
If you are worried about fainting, just have them lay you down. That tends to help me with getting my blood taken.
It wasnt too bad, i just felt tired and lethargic last night. Im so tiny, so it was a big deal to me..i have good veins though so they didnt have to go searching for the right line or anything nasty!
:-), if you ll be so brave next time again you might even get a free drops, or picture, or little toy:-). Rewards are important:-)
