Libra ex returns..?

Libra and I(a Leo) were together for about six months a little over a year ago. I think we both had a pretty difficult time with the break-up, but have both moved on, grown, and become pretty good friends over the last few months or so. There have always been hints of feelings and attraction still in play, but we are both in control of ourselves enough that we never acted on them.

Within the last two weeks I have become interested in someone else and feel pretty good initial chemistry/connection with them. We have been talking back and forth, and there is a high possibility that a relationship could form from this. On New Years day I randomly run into the ex libra with a bunch of mutual friends, and we end up hanging out all day. This led to him coming home with me and us sleeping together for the first time in well over a year. When we were finished he said to me "I think we needed to do that, Ive been thinking about it for awhile and was back and forth about whether it would be a good idea." (typical indecision!)

Now I am not only so confused about the prospect here and which road to possibly take, but also what was his intention here? He had obviously been contemplating it for some time. Could it have been so subconscious sense that I had met someone?
