With all these shootings going on it makes me want to go back to school and become a lawyer. I have never felt so helpless. I have always felt very in touch with people and when tragedies happen not just of the violent kind but also the natural disaster kind and so on, it effects me deeply. I am at the point I feel like I have to do something.

The best way to destroy pain and chaos is to use a larger amount of pain and chaos. Because if you don't, your kindness and sympathy will only be used against you and exploited as a weakness.

This is planet earth, in the Milky Way Galaxy, which is nothing but a grain of sand in our universe. Not happy fun land with peace, love, and joy. Its destroy or be destroyed. Love it, embrace it, get use to it.

That's exactly how you take a situation and make it 100 times worse.

This does nothing but make an even bigger resistance between the law and the people. It just gets worse from here. More innocent cops will die, and more innocent people will die.

You can't just ask a person for their fucking information then shoot them down when they reach for it. Wtf? At least the woman was brave enough to record it.

I don't think it matters who's what skin color, we're all in the same boat with the wtfery and sense of helplessness in what to do. There are just so many angles to this issue it's like Jesus Christ, where do we start? Victims need defending, reform has to happen in multiple areas, changes need to be made, etc.

It's just part of a long laundry list of things that have happened over the last several decades.

I mean, look at the current election- so much of that has become shit beyond our control and it's like what the hell do you do to stop these two crazy fucks coming into power and making these current issues worse? Some racist, crazy douche, or some power hungry douche that will destroy this country further?

All this sudden fixation on gun control, stirring up "citizens vs police," what the hell is that leading up to? Total loss of rights? People talk about it being a police state now, just wait and see because it's gonna get worse.

Then there's the obvious issue that's already going on with police departments across the country-corruption and obvious quesitonable hiring practices with these egotistical, bully individuals power tripping and taking it out on the wrong people.

All in all, it's all become a cluster fuck. As a white person, my brain wants to splode because it's a multifacted issue that's hard to pinpoint what needs to change first to get the ball rolling. You guys get the added "bonus" of being one of the targeted groups in these issues, so that just adds even more to the overwhelming wtfery.

It's just sad that in THIS country, "land of the free" that this sense of helplessness of any sort of change is going on and that in 2016 any group has to feel like this, whether its skin color, sexuality, identity, whatever. It's like it's 1950 all over again and I doubt that's a coincidence.

It does not take a rocket scientist to realize a total gun ban may be coming down from the cosmos. From the Bible, God has good and bad servants he uses to do his biddings.

Especially with Killary in for next president.

With this cosmic weather, I'm concerned about the ruling the international court in the Hague will say on the disputed Spratly islands, which involved China and the US. China already made some bold statements that they think the ruling and the entire court is a sham.

Fuck the rest of the world and their hypocritical opinion. No place on this earth is perfect and completely free of at least some form of corruption, whether it be now or throughout humanity's history on this planet.

Maybe America's gun laws should change to some degree if we're talking about mass shootings but, if the OP is referring to police brutality like I think she is then that has more to do with our corrupt criminal justice system and institutionalized racism more than anything, that's what needs to change.

I get thats not what shes really talking about. Sorry. I think that its a chain effect though.. And whatever i say after this point will just make people angry and ill probably sound like an idiot. Sooooaahhh. I surrender.

Yeah I was thinking police brutality but also what you are talking about is a big issue as well. I am originally from under the Mason Dixon line and down there you see guns out very openly I grew up with that around and my dad is a cop he kept his guns locked away but I grew up around them

And it wasn't a big deal until o for older and realized how much fun violence there was and then when I moved to CT I realized how against guns most of the people were up here and it gave a new perspective Will have to understand is that the honor and integrity of this country has been bleeding out over the last decade or so it is a different used to you could still can't hold people by sometime on her butt today where I'm sitting now there are no honor bound men left just fear and fear makes you do the silliest things

I couldn't be a lawyer no matter how well I could do my job. I would not be able to defend someone whom I believe to be guilty.. And that would be part of my work. Just can't.…

I feel helpless too and so full of rage over what happened. Its sickening.

Same. I grew up in the south where the concept of guns was whatever. Never recall of any issues of guns or usage of them being a problem. My dad was an expert marksman in the Army, so he knew his way around guns, and we just kinda knew not to fuck with his rifle he kept mounted as decoration in the living room. *shrugs* My brother and I just grew up very indifferent. We aren't fearful of them, but we aren't all gun happy either, you know?

People fear what they don't know, and we have a few generations that have been pussified and sheltered, so dun dun dun, guns be bad yo. Omgherd, so scurry! It's why I'm so meh about the concept of "more gun control" or possible "banning" of weapons. We're treading on very fragile territory. There's a reason our founding fathers wanted us to have the right to bear arms. They didn't want a repeat of the insanity going on across the pond and wanted the citizens to be able to protect themselves, should any sort of invasion or over reach of government power be a problem.

But another thing that's been "institutionalized" is complacency and ignorance. They've been working to dumb us down so we just nod and smile so they can take over and just ignore the constitution. Fuck us, right?

This is why I can't help but lol at all of the sudden exposure in the media of these varying issues. It's just more of that lovely tactic of theirs to distract us from what's really happening. It's not a coincidence that we're seeing "more" of this happening. A lot of hype behind the term "mass shooting" which is defined as an actual small number of people who are shot in an incidence. I think it's something crazy like 3-4. That's why it seems like it's been inflated. "Omg the number of mass shootings." Everyone pictures situations like San Bernardino or Sandy Hook, but that's not the only thing included, just larger scale "mass shootings."

So it begs the question, is it REALLY on the rise? Or falsely perceived to give them reason to strip us of our right to bear arms?

Making stricter gun laws won't make a difference. The underground black market on the deep web is a criminal breeding ground for such things. If anything, it will just make the gun market submerge more underground and make it more harder for those with good intentions to obtain them.

We are trying to get rid of the symptom (gun violence) first, hoping that it will cure the disease. That never works. Cure the disease first and the symptoms go away....

Sad part is, do we even know what the disease is?

As for the cop....Oh goodness, no comment. Legal murder.
