I have been seeing Aquarius for a while, he was like this. He confirmed that he is "distant" at times. He did it because he did not want to be in the exclusive relationship, his options were open.
Did he say upfront he didn’t want a relationship though or was it just his actions?

I never asked (I was more about something casual, he was not really my type, but was fun to hang out), but we talked about many many things. For example, we discussed dating apps and he said he will try them too. How did I know about "distant" part: he tended to disappear for 3-4 days and was taking a day to reply to a simple message. This did not bother me, but what did bother me was the fact he always wanted to join my plans which I made while he was MIA. For example, he reappeared Friday night and Saturday morning I had a day trip planned, and so on. I confronted him and he told me he is like that "right now", which meant he did not want to be in a relationship/exclusively hang out.
I ended it because slow texters annoy me.
