Recently I received just under a thousand quid from an employer who said they didn't owe me either holiday pay or extra pay for working public holidays. They came up with some crappy excuses which I argued weren't valid and after some resistance, and me quoting certain employment laws at them, they paid up. I'm not sure if they were taking the piss or after ten years of trading (five shops and a lucrative online business), they genuinely weren't aware of employment law? 🤔
I've since discovered others are going through similar situations so am raising awareness and hoping to train in employment law soon
Here, everyone has to be in receipt of the minimum wage, receive a pay slip, holday pay and extra pay for public holidays ... it seems a lot of companies don't comply with this.
How is it where you are? Are you receiving what you are legally entitled to?
