Share your fun holiday memories! 🙂

I was just remembering me and my husband's first Christmas together. We bought eachother not only the same thing, a dayplanner for the coming year.. it was the *exact* same one in the exact same color! We each opened one gift on Christmas Eve and that was the one I opened. My eyes were so big! He was probably thinking, "Whoa, she's way excited about this dayplanner..." Lol! I had to keep it a secret all night until morning when he opened his! It was so funny! 😄

haha, great and sweet story @Duchessbro.

One of my favourite memories is the Christmas I had with just my mom and sister one year.

Background: when my sister and I were in elementary school, we would sometimes go home for lunch. We always looked forward to that because my mom would prepare our favourite lunch foods that didn't survive well in a lunch kit taken to school. As an extra treat, she would buy fancy cookies from a local bakery for dessert.

So for the Christmas I remember happily, for Christmas dinner, we decided to recreate that lunch, even though we were adults and there was nothing Christmas-y about the foods at all. It was the simplest Christmas meal we had ever had prep-wise. We could just relax and have a fun time reminiscing about school days.

I always use to have bad Christmas because my mom would decide to have a fight with my dad the night before lol.

BUT I REMEMBER THIS ONE TIME IT WAS SO HORRIBLE YET SO HILARIOUS HAHA IT WAS XMAS EVE AND SHE WAS UPSET SO SHE GOT READY LATE AND TOOK A PATH AND ALL THAT, WE WERE ALL DOWNSTAIRS AND SUDDENLY SHE CAME WITH A Q TIP STUCK INSIDE HER EAR! AND WE ALL WERE LIKE "WTH? ON CHRISTMAS?" -SO IRRELEVANT- THEN WE TOOK HER TO THE DOCTOR -OUR DAD'S FRIEND- AND WE COULDNT STOP LAUGHING ALL THE WAY TILL WE GOT THERE, IT WAS SO FUNNY AND WEIRD LIKE SERIOUSLY?? Q-TIP— WE SPENT THE EVE ON MY DAD'S FRIEND HOUSE, IT WAS SUPER FUN AND HILARIOUS.

AFTER THAT EVENT SHE MADE A RULE TO NOT BE UPSET ON XMAS EVE
Wow. lol

Sometimes when I'm using a Q-tip I'm worried something will happen suddenly, like an earthquake, that will jam the Q-tip in and rupture my ear drum. Bizarre fear of mine!

LOL!! what! haha! your eardrum should be the last thing to be worried about if there happen to be an earthquake! lol

I have similar weird fear tho, whenever I pull out a paper I'm so damn afraid something will happen and I will paper-cut my eye!

Maybe when I'm using a Q-tip it presses on a nerve that triggers ridiculous thoughts. lol

I experience something like that too when pulling out paper! Not about my eye (usually) but about paper-cutting my hand, which has actually happened, so I'm extra careful when doing it.

please don't use qtips. they are NOT good for you.

my parents tried using them on us as kids and I vehemently refused!

to this day....my brother is obsessed with using them and has to visit the doctor at least twice a year because of ear issues.

I've never stuck one in my ear and I've never had an issue.

even a doctor will tell you NOT to use them in your ear.
Excellent tip (forgive the pun)!

I only put them in the very outer part of the ear hole to remove wax that I've loosened with warm water in the shower. I've never had ear issues. Well, once when I was a kid I had an ear infection, but I wasn't using Q-tips back then. I'm not sure how I could remove the wax easily otherwise. I'm prone to wax buildup.

my best memoies were spending it with my big family, where my grandparents were still alive. sitting with my grandma, and watching grandpa eat very spicey stuff. (he loved spicey food!!) i feel very sad when they grow old and leave this world. Now my parents are getting older and i feel sad again. then i'll feel sad when me and my husband get old and leave our loved ones behind. I dont really have a "specific" Christmas, i just love my family alot.
