Both of you need to have wireless connectivity or cellular data turned on.
This happens to me as well, and it's all related to connectivity.

I used to work in tech support for at&t so I am qualified to answer this question
turn it off and turn it back on again
viola
But rly it sounds like a network error, you will probably need to file a case
Also, smart phones become obsolete very quickly. I know you are of much older generation, but that is how electronics work nowadays. having an iphone 5s is like speaking into a plastic cup with a string tied to another plastic cup to transmit signal
You're welcome

My friend has 5 or 6.
Lately if he sends me text like can we talk and I say yes...my text doesn't get marked as delivered. So he doesn't get it.
So he sends another one and I say yes and it doesn't get marked 'delivered' - it happened twice already.
What is wrong? Anyone iPhone savvy?
Also iphone5 reception isn't good.
And I have a new one after I shattered old one. Still have to ask to repeat!
Any solutions to that? Thanks
