Do you believe that Lilith was the first on woman on earth? A Pisces friend asked me to look into it. I was quite astonished with the information on the internet that keeps proclaiming this myth. However, I just want to hear from you guys what you think of these stories, legends, myths etc. With feminism on the rise its not a surprise that this story keeps coming up.

Yeah is it in the christian bible too?

Lilit from the Hebrew לִילִית

indirectly in older versions.

Woman is created twice.

the first the same time as adam ( lilith)

the second from his rib. ( eve)

In reality no. If we're talking straight biblical mythos, I think it's possible that, that was the intent of the original story but was changed. I think Lilith got off easier. I mean eating babies isn't cool but I respect the "I'm an independent woman so fuck you Adam".

But there are plenty of other mythos where life including men and women come from a feminine deity.

Actually they did, she’s only mentioned once in the Bible as a demonstress in the story of Isaiah 34:14 but many believe that she was secretly mentioned in genesis but needed to be decoded to understand.

Lilith

The creation of humans is described in Genesis 1 and in Genesis 2. The first account is fairly straightforward: “So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female (Lilith) he created them” (Genesis 1:27).

Eve:

“Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and the man became a living being. … So the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then he took one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. And the rib that the Lord God had taken from the man he made into a woman and brought her to the man” (Genesis 2:7, 21–22).

Apparently, genesis seems as one timeline but it’s two separate accounts for humans being created.

Yes, I am a believer but I also believe the Bible is missing many stories and parts to it. So I’m naturally curious and can’t help to dig deeper in “why” they were removed. I do think there is so much we should not known as humans, specifically because we have weak self control and lack of willpower when given knowledge and/or wisdom.

1. Politics

2. Things often get lost in translation

1. Emperor Constantine commissioned the Bible and had its different texts heavily edited and many parts omitted in order to gain favour with the growing Christian community (both in power and influence) in Rome. More than 4 of the apostles contributed to the New Testament - but only the 4 were included because "they seemed the most appropriate" at the time.

2. The Bible has been translated multiple times into various languages and sometimes things get lost in translation (i.e. misinterpretation, incorrect usage of terms).

I've been trying to get my hands on The Acts of Thomas (also known as Doubting Thomas) to see if its true that he wrote that "man and God can become as one divine being" (something that I believe is also one of the tenets of Buddhism) because apparently that was the reason his writings were excluded from the New Testament.

I’d like to find some biblical proof of it.

It's in the Talmud and the Torah. Torah is the jewish bible ...Talmud is the jewish bible plus rabbinical discussion of the bible.

The oldest story of her is supposed to be the Alphabet of Ben Sira. But it's very mysterious and almost satirical.

It's like everyone struggles to make the right thing come out ....

Adam is alone and God creates Lilith but she feels sad God just made her to be a thing for Adam and she doesn't want to go underneath when they are in bed but not just in bed in all things. She then says God's name and flies into the air and Adam cries to God that she has run. God says he will ask her to come back. But even God cannot subjugate her. And he doesn't want to. But he says 100 of her children must die everyday. But she swears to God and on God's name that she has no power to hurt children if they have an amulet with their forms or their names (his angels).also those red strings around the wrist in kabalah protect you from her

They never put her in the christian bible though i don't know why.

Great post!! Sorry, I had to capitalize the "G" all others are lower case
