What's everyone's opinion on pornography? Do you think it is too prevalent in our society, or do you think there could never in a million years be such a thing as too much porn? I've heard the theory that too much exposure to pornography can make a person more likely to commit violent crimes...but then why do we rarely hear of porn stars like Jenna Jamison or Ron Jeremy comitting violent crimes?

Tell me your thoughts on the subject.

lol i think anyone is capable of committing violent crimes, it just all depends on what that person is going through, maybe the reason ppl suspect this is because probably they get nasty remarks from ppl and that makes them want to commit those crimes lol but i dont think pornography is BAD, i think its just all about money... some porn stars dont even like their jobs, its all about money. Or some girls just flaunting their stuff which takes offense to some ppl but i guess its just their body but yeah i dont like it when some girls think theyre better because they have bigger BOOBS and are OLDER and "REAL WOMAN". Okay lol i'll not get into that ^^ but anyway, to me porno is just like regular sex, some ppl take it as a guide when they wanna do some kinky things with their hubbie/bf/partner/whatevaaaa and some just watch it for some pure enjoyment/pleasure and some just think its digusting, and thats alright, they just dont have to watch it.

Good points Luz. I think it's fine, I just don't like the idea of the Hustler magazine, because I've heard it's violent. Not to gross anyone out with details, but I'm definitely not against pornographic media at all...I think it is all about enjoyment for the consumer and all about money for the producers. I think women are just as highly sexed as men, too, I just think many of them are afraid to admit it. Why is there such a taboo on women who like porn, I wonder? I think it is awesome for couples to watch it together...great ideas, you know? lol.

I watched a thing on the history channel not too long ago on ancient porn. lol, it was quite interesting, it's been around far longer than you'd think. Cave paintings and Egyptian hieroglyphics depicting all kinds of "lewd" acts...

I didnt raise them to be cheap and they know better.

They have never been in trouble except for once and it wasnt their doing but they took the blame and wish they hadnt, but ya live and learn and they have always been very good girls!

Just because someone has it, doesnt mean they necessarily flaunt it. I often wonder if I got jobs because of it. I remember I was so proud of myself when I got hired in at an all male city job, only to find out from a memeber of the crew that I was hired because they all wanted to date me. I made it my mission to get even with them all, and I did. Not only that, but I had something to prove. Eventually I became one of the boys. I had to put up with so much harrassment it was disgusting. What did I do in the end was cry at first alot and then I got an attitude and then I use to get right back in their faces and they eventually shut up and fianlly they started treating me well.

Being busty or attractive may be good for a porn star of strippers etc, but not if you want to be taken seriously in any other chosen profession. It can get you in the door but what happen when you are behind it can be a real pain in the a s s!

I have mixed feelings on porn. The first time I watched porn was with my boyfriend. It wasn't because we were trying to get turned on or anything like that. I had never watched any type of porn up until that point and my boyfriend asked me if I wanted to watch it..since I never had. Being curious, I said ok. My initial reaction was just pure repulsion.

The reason for my mixed feelings for porn is because, yes sex is a part of our lives and its out there, but what disgusts me is how the women are so objectified in most of these things...like we're packages of meat ready to be ravaged. One porn star was basically made into a sex contraption, 3 guys thrusting themselves in and out of every orifice of her body. She was just bent over taking it all in. Watching porn is pretty normal nowadays and many justify it for that very reason. But I really didn't like watching it all...it's mainly made to please men; it plays out their even most disgusting fantasies of domination and rape.

Porn is out there, and it's probably never going to be subdued but become even more commonplace over the years. I'm just afraid of how disensitized people will become to it all, how sex will be viewed as something to be taken lightly. And I do see how watching porn in excessive amounts can encourage violence in people..especially in men and how they treat women. Obviously, if boys are bombarded with such images, it's going to encourage some types of unpleasant behavior for some of them. Some of them will be conditioned into thinking that women are just there for the carrying out of their own pleasures. We're more than just boobs and ass. And the worst would be having a boyfriend/husband addicted to that stuff. Porn is ok if you don't take it too seriously and don't believe that that's what sex is supposed to be like...hardcore screwing. I don't think any man who watches porn on a regular basis could ever come to appreciate women whatsoever but more so, come to degrade them. But those are just my thoughts. Sex is good, exploiting it isn't.

Good points...I imagine that would be rather intimidating, being the only female in an all-male environment. I would hope that men would realize this and make it a point to make the woman feel more comfortable, but apparently chivalry is dead? Mob mentality I suppose...I for one can't stand men who don't stand up for women when they are being intimidated or harassed by other men.

I suppose I can see both sides...I think a little objectification sometimes is necessary to enrichen our fantasies...I once heard that the most common female fantasy is a non-consent/rape fantasy, which shocked me. However, I do think the factor of domination is a huge one in sex for a lot of people. I see it this way, too: if men are going to objectify me in their fantasies, I will do the same with them. I have no problem being objectified every now and then, but only in the bedroom, there has to be respect outside the bedroom or I won't be IN the bedroom in the first place.

By the way, I have seen some really lame porn also...I hate it when the woman is just like, a sperm receptacle for the men. Like I said, it's okay with me if there's objectification going on, but it just depresses me to see a woman not even getting off from being objectified, if that makes sense. lol.

Well, it is amazing what I put up with when I was younger that I wouldnt tolerate for a second now, and they know when I am serious and when I am not. I think that they did this because I was young and because they were just pigs! And it didnt so much as scare me as make me mad. I for along time dressed down. Now I like the attention and can handle myself better.

I do agree with you on that one. Objectification can be actually really sexy, if it's between you and your man in the privacy of your bedroom. But with anyone else and anywhere else outside of the bedroom...no.

I do think there is desensitization that occurs...men have just reached out and touched me a few times when it was totally uncalled for! Once, I was at work, I had turned around and this guy grabbed my ass! In front of his friends. I'm sure he thought he was funny! I turned around and slapped him! I hate that men think they can just touch a woman without any provacation! I had a few incidences happen too close together and became almost paranoid! Star, I would have slapped him, too. You know, even if you were flirty with him, you still didn't need to be fondled. Keep the touching out of the workplace...better yet, people shouldn't even flirt in the workplace. It creates a situation of disrespect all the way around I think. I worked for a slightly older man once who was (literally) a body builder, tan, piercing blue eyes, dirty blond hair, and perfect features...and I never once even thought to flirt with him. He was engaged, number one, and secondly, he was my boss. The thought of crossing that boundary with my boss was just way too weird for me. The momentary pleasure would not be worth the weirdness and inappropriateness that would forever be there after the fact. He offered me a BEER once, WHILE I WAS ON THE JOB AND ONLY SEVENTEEN YEARS OLD FOR THAT MATTER (!) and I declined...and never quite thought as highly of him after that. I felt it was inappropriate, seeing as how he was like 15 years older than me, engaged, and my superior.

If he had ever touched me, he would have pulled back a stump, because I don't care how gorgeous you are (and believe me, he could have any woman he wanted, he was drop-dead)--if you act like an ass, you are nothing to me and I don't want to be around you.

P.S. My boss was a scorpio, in fact his birthday was like the day after mine. Not that his being a scorpio has anything to do with anything, I just thought it was interesting. lol.
