What does skewiff mean?? Never heard of it before.

I am feeling pretty good myself; got a little rest today! 🙂

As far as 'integrity' goes, I admire people that have it and live by their values and stick to them. I try to.

For instance,

Marriage is sacred.

Do an honest days work for your pay.

Keep your word. (if you say your gonna do something, then do it) Like if say you are going to call someone dont just leave them hanging)

Those are just a few of the ones I try and live by.

Libragirl, I really agree with you that integrity is the most important thing in life. Definitely. Now whether I myself always adhere to that, is questionable...lol. But I don't go out and do deliberately scummy things like steal and be mean to people for fun and lie. I have done less than upstanding things in the past, but my mother always told me that to have integrity is the most important thing. Integrity is extremely rare nowadays, so I always am amazed when I see people demonstrating it. I think it's a hard ideal to consistently live up to however.

I believe integrity to be the set of values you deem important to yourself. If you go against these, you are going against yourself. Without integrity, you have nothing in this world. All the money in the world can't buy values or a sense of self. I believe integrity is connected with honesty. To live with integrity, you have to be honest in some way. It is the most important thing in life.

Ok, maybe it is not the most important thing to everybody, but i see it as highly important to me (Law goddess, i just couldn't be that hardline about it, you are entitled to your opinion!). I also think that sometimes you have to follow it, even if circumstances don't suit you. That is the hardest thing to do, to uphold a principle when it goes against your own sense of security and comfort. That is pretty hard you know, to sacrifice personal gain for the sake of a principle.

I agree with you Libragirl! Especially about integrity being the set of values you believe are right and just, and that it goes hand in hand with honesty.
And, yes, it is hard to sacrifice personal gain for the sake of a principle...but, isn't that part of what keeps us from being criminals? Our value system and our conscience?

Of course, not all decisions are so black and white...the gray areas make it tougher!!
Good Luck to you!

I see integrity more as the ability of someone to trust you and your honest-ability. I don't see it as sticking up for one's ideals because I'm not one to shout out to the whole world what I believe (although message boards like this make that sort of hypocritical)

Being right and just though, those are qualties of those with integrity and I guess those reflect you system of beliefs...oh well I just contradicted myself.

Peace
