On an Economics Blog I frequent

I thought this was apparant only of DXP but apparantly it is rampant among the more enlightened.

The following is a banner put before the discussion portion of all threads pertaining to this website's blog entries:

".....Please use the comments to demonstrate your own ignorance, unfamiliarity with empirical data and lack of respect for scientific knowledge. Be sure to create straw men and argue against things I have neither said nor implied. If you could repeat previously discredited memes or steer the conversation into irrelevant, off topic discussions, it would be appreciated. Lastly, kindly forgo all civility in your discourse . . . you are, after all, anonymous."

Seems my colleagues in Economics aren't afraid of a little smack writing. So I guess it is the nature of the interwebs. Everybody loves to throwdown.

Alas.. the human condition; we're all stricken.

But it should be noted that some are more stricken than others.

I suppose it goes hand in hand with being anonymous. 🙂

For someone who has over 900 pages of previous posts 'useless' is a word I would not bat around so nonchalantly.
