Uncertain decision

Greetings all!

I've been unemployed for a few months. There is one job (Job A) I had interviewed for a few times over the past month (they had me come back and meet with different people about 4 times). About a week after that last interview I didn't hear anything so I went back to my job search. Now three days ago I applied for a different job (Job B) that is exactly what I want to be doing and it fits my unique skill set and experience perfectly. I am still waiting and hoping to hear back from them to schedule an interview. Late this morning I was emailed a job offer from Job A which is 2 weeks after my last interview with them. Had Job A offered me the job sooner I would have taken it but with the possibility of Job B which could be my dream job I'm second guessing it. Job B would be a step forward for my career while Job A would be a step back. I definitely don't want to keep the people at Job A hanging but I'm really lost at what to do here and need to make a decision really quickly. My intuition tells me to wait and see if I hear anything from Job B. My intuition has never let me down but I can't tell if it's my intuition talking or just foolish hope. Anyone have any insight out there?

Ir you're really interested in Job B, you may want to take an extra step and contact them beyond the application. See if you can speed up a response. Something along the lines of: "I really think the position with you is a good match, and I am holding off on another offer to see if there is a mutual interest".
It ups your market value, and could light a fire under the people at Job B. Its best if you could get a hold of the hiring manager directly to discuss it, but HR can work if you're confident in your power of persuasion.

Thanks for your input! Unfortunately this company holds all of their personnel information very close to it's chest (its very tiny but in demand) so it's difficult to find an actual persons contact information to do any sort of direct follow up (trust me I've tried all over the internet and social media to no avail!). They send an email to let you know that your resume has been accepted and ask you not to email again due to the high volume of resumes they receive...blah blah blah...so I'm leary of sending a follow up. I have a friend who works in HR and most times she will remove their resume from consideration if they send a second email after they send an automated response that specifically says not to. She says it shows that they can't follow directions. I feel like to do anything further to contact the company could ruin my chances. I am checking through my contacts to see if there is any one I know that might know anyone within that company to at least put in a good word for me.

Take job a if job b call give ur two week resignation.

I could never do that to someone. I take great pride and care in the job that I do and strive to do any job I take on well. If I accept the job I'm going to stick with it. It's not a big heartless company I'd be working for it's like a family. But I'm worried that if I take Job A and a few weeks later am called upon for Job B I know that I'll eventually resent my position in Job A.

You can really start to see my dilemma here!

U said it urself if u stay in A ull resent it. Ur honoring ur commitment by giving two week notice. N doing a great job while there. What if U don't hear from job b for a year are u willing to starve.
Or if u commit to A are u willing to give up what U really enjoy n upward mobility for loyalty. Is in it the loyalty to u n family u feed as important.

It's not about loyalty. It's about reputation. The fact is if I choose Job A I make a commitment to those people. What does that say about me if I break that commitment shortly after accepting to honor it? What if this gets around to other people in my industry? I have a pretty sterling reputation that I'd hate to tarnish and reputation is everything in my line of work.

You do bring up a good point though. What if I accept Job A and never hear from Job B? Or what if I decline Job A, never hear from Job B and never find another job as good as at least Job A? Ok, now I'm just giving myself an anxiety attack for no reason. Haha!
