well the person that wrote this said, if there are only two children, then you would just read the first born and last born. their is no middle child. he said that if a third child is born later then the original last born will start to show traits of the middle child description.
hmmmm. interesting. what is this based on though?
do we fit into these roles based on our parents experience and expectations?
we all know how first borns are laden/burdened with expectations and how less strict parents are with second (and further) children...
that i can relate toclick to expand

First-borns
Positives: They are natural leaders and often high achievers. The majority of politicians, spokespersons and managing directors are first-borns. They frequently live with a sense of entitlement and even superiority. They often come in two flavours: compliant nurturers/caregivers or aggressive movers and shakers.
Both are in control; they just use different methods. As a rule, first-borns are picky, precise people - they pay attention to detail - tend to be punctual, organised, and competent. They want to see things done right the first time. They don't like surprises.
Negatives: They are often moody and occasionally lack sensitivity. They can be intimidating, particularly by pushing people too hard or refusing to take no for an answer.
Sometimes they can be a bit 'know-it-all', and often they are poor at delegating - largely because they don't trust other people as much as they trust themselves. They also tend to be bossy, perfectionists and overly-conscientious.

Interesting how only-borns sounds like fixed signs, first-borns sound like cardinal signs, and last-borns sound like mutable signs.
Middle-borns just sound like Libras.

I was raised in a home as an only child for 8 years. Then had a younger step brother Spent half my time with that side of the family. Then I met my older half brother. Then my sister was born; I got to hold her in the hospital. I was 9. Then my half brother could not see my dad anymore. At age 14 my siblings and father left and haven't seen them since then.
But, if I had to say what I felt like in birth order, I feel like the oldest. I do talk long distance to my younger brother and sister - and I definitely still do fit into that role of oldest sister to them. My half brother was too submissive to really have an effect on my attitude within a year.
.... Sorry if the whole explanation makes no sense. It doesn't make much sense to me either 🙂

In terms of compatibility, I've also read that romantic relationships tend to more successful if a First Born marries a Last Born: http://www.ivillage.co.uk/how-your-birth-order-affects-your-romantic-compatibility/82285. My Father is the youngest child from his family (2 older sisters) & my Mother is a the oldest child in hers (1 younger brother). I'm the oldest child from my family (1 younger sister) and my boyfriend is the youngest child from his (1 older sister). Come to think of it, all 4 of the serious boyfriends I've had have been the youngest child in their families- and three of those boyfriends had an older sister.

Don't be sorry. I haven't lost anyone. I've lived as an only, oldest, and middle child! That's more experience than many are able to encounter in their life. It has given me understanding for a spectrum of different views. 🙂click to expand

Middle-Borns
Positives: The classic middle-born is very relational, tends to be a people-pleaser and usually hates confrontation. Their basic need is to keep life smooth and their motto might be 'peace at any price'. They are usually very calm, will roll with the punches and are amiable, down-to-earth and great listeners. They are skilled at seeing both sides of a problem and eager to make everybody happy. That makes them good mediators and negotiators.
Negatives: They tend to be less driven than first-borns, but are much more eager to be liked - or at least be happy with them. They have a difficult time setting boundaries. They can drift into becoming 'co-dependent' as they try to please everybody. They are not good at making decisions that will offend others. They also tend to blame themselves when others fail.

Here's a link to an article I read a few years back. Interesting. It even mentions that this is similar to the horoscopes.

Only-borns
Positives: Only-borns are the mega-movers of the world. They are task-orientated; tend to be extremely well organised, highly conscientious and dependable. They are keen on facts, ideas and details and feel extremely comfortable with responsibility.
Negatives: The negative characteristics of only-borns can be tough to handle. They are often unforgiving, very demanding, hate to admit they're wrong and usually don't accept criticism well. To others, they seem very sensitive and indeed, their feelings are easily hurt.
